Description
Formerly known as the Historical Museum of the City of Vienna (Historisches Museum der Stadt Wien), what is now the Wien Museum Karlsplatz has existed since 1887. The museum contains a mixture of art and historical exhibits so that the visitor can get a sense of the development of Vienna, starting out in the Neolithic and traveling through the Roman camp of Vindobona up to the past century (20th century). The Museum holds permanent exhibits as well as frequent special exhibitions.
