My family and I have been dinning at LinQ Buffet since 2008, when we first started going thee the food was fresh, ample, and you could clearly see that the owners took care in what product was going out to their customers. Over the past 3 years my family and I have noticed the food getting cheaper, even the once really big flavorful deep fried shrimp used to be 3 times larger than the deep fried bread with a little shrimp inside of it now. The food has become greasy, the sushi taste like it has dirt in it, and the salad bar looks like it is the night befores lay out. For the last 1.5 years we kept frequenting LinQ cause my kids like to go thee cause of the independence in being able to get their own food, but every time we eat there we get upset stomachs now, and we even have diarrhea the next day pretty bad. One time I think I even got mild food poisoning when I found myself throwing up everything I ate just 3 min. after we left the Buffet. Last night 4-2-2012 my family went there, and keep in mind we are a family of 7 and most of the time it is 5 of us that go almost weekly to a bi-weekly routine. We got there at about 7:45-ish and when we got there all the food was hard, the broccoli salad was rotten to the point I had to spit it out cause I was going to puke, the pot stickers were so hard you could use them as a Hockey Puck, the deep fried shrimp was all shriveled up, the sweet and sour sauce was burnt to the bottom of the pan with little to none left unless you wanted it burnt, the sushi was warm, and tasted like dirt again, and there was only one kind out to chose from, food was splattered all over the counter tops, dried all over the spoons, and when I ordered the ice tea it tasted so bad I had to spit that out as well. Needless to say with the variety I put on my plates, I was only able to take a couple bites and I had to spit most of it out, and then i told the owners wife but she just ignored me like she could not understand me. Expecting her to at least take my portion off the bill, she did not even make eye contact even when I told her after all these years and the amount of money we have spent in the restaurant that we would never be back, I we have brought huge parties of family members to the restaurant, plus at one time we were going weekly when we first started going there in 2008. I still have a very flip floppy bad stomach ache, and I feel sick with just the small amount of food I ate there last night. I NO NOT!!! recommend the Lin Q Buffet to anyone.. it has gone down hill real fast with very poor service to boot. If I could give this place NO STARS I WOULD, but this is not an option.

ok so i went to LinQ for lunch today with my Grandson, Liam. As we were eating , one of the employees was have a quite loud conversation with the Owners wife. Next thing i know, the young girl is walking past my table, and heads out towards the back door, then the owners wife, storms past me after her. she gets to the back hallway and they start yelling at each other, i hear screaming and more yelling, then two guys that were there having lunch quickly get up and race to the back hallway, i see the men struggling pull the women apart, more yelling more hitting and slapping, finally one of the guys came out of the hallway holding the owners wife around her arms and stomach, i see the other guy, carry the young girl to the back door, The guy that was carrying the owners wife puts her down in the large main dining area, she then tries to run past the guy to get to the young girl.... he stopped her and she returned to the front register. we then got up along with a few other people to pay for our meals and leave. not one word was spoken to us she just took our money no apology no have a nice day nothing! can you say real professional?
This place is oaky. It seemed much better when it first opened. Maybe they have just gotten comfortable. I prefer the buffet by Kmart instead. They have improved tremendously since the new place opned.
I was very skeptical, but I have to admit it was good enough for me to recommend! $10 for adults, $5 for kids, drinks/tip not included. Food was quite good with a large variety. I had Sushi (nigiri style tuna, salmon, snapper, eel - and cali roll), oysters on the half shell, king crab legs, peel and eat shrimp, coconut shrimp, pot stickers, dim sum pork bun, chicken satay (my son LOVED these) and a coconut macaroon. Wife had mongolian bbq beef with vegs snd said it was very good. Excellent value!
My family like to go to Lin Q for dinner because everybody can sample different food. The price is very reasonable, the atmosphere is nice, the food is excellent, the service is great. Sometimes, if they will serve very authentic food like bamboo wrapped sticky rice. My company like to go there for group lunch too. It is good place for the party as well.
Lin Q Buffet is a treat. Two friends and I got there 45 minutes before closing last night. Despite that, we thought the food was surprisingly fresh. Staff people were polite, the food tasted really good, restaurant decor is attractive, and the prices are quite reasonable - especially for what you're getting. I'd recommend Lin Q to anyone, especially to someone who'd like a good Grass Valley dining experience, and Grass Valley is noted for a lot of decent restaurants.
DONT EAT HERE! The food is bad and made my entire party sick. Several of the party had allergic reactions and they didnt touch anything they would have been allergic to. The staff is unkind, unhelpful and downright RUDE. I would not recommend it to anyone.
