My husband and I went there but we happened to be in jeans and the place was kinda more dress upscale. The two young ladies who were hostesses I feel treated us like crap. They never smiled but I had watched and seen them with other people who were more dressed to suit the place and they gave them more respect. We were leaving and I said have a nice night to them and they didn't even acknowledge me. Sad that they stink at their jobs but food is so great and the owner was nice as ever! Hire new help! First impressions last.
This is one of the very best Chinese restaurants in Pittsburgh. It is a little more upscale than your typical neighborhood Chinese restaurant with more progressive choices. Think of PF Changs but with a better atmosphere and better food........ ;-) The suhi is top notch and they have a tremendous selection of saki's sold by the glass or in flights. Service is excellent and a nice wine list as well.
Definitely give it a try.
Jimmy Wan's Taipei is the apex of oriental cuisine. One fact that people may not realize is they are more than willing to make dishes with brown rice and white meat chicken to give their dishes a healthier twist. In my humble opinion, this is the best oriental restaurant in the Pittsburgh area. The food, service, and the ambiance will not disappoint.
