Very disappointed! After frequenting Margarita s for over a year and a half, I had such a bad experience tonight that I will not be returning or referring anyone to this establishment or their sister restaurant La Hacienda. I am a pretty easy going restaurant patron. After about 7 years in the business myself, I can understand an occasional mess up, delay of service and kitchen mishaps. Tonight while dining with my husband and some friends, I ordered the exact same menu item that I have always ordered from any Mexican restaurant, Chicken Chimichangas. The menu description says that you will receive 2 chimichangas with cheese sauce, sourcream, lettuce, pico de gallo, guacamole and your choice of beans or rice. EVERY TIME that I have ordered this dish in the past, it has always arrived at my table exactly as specified in the menu. Tonight however was different. The chimichangas came with cheese sauce AND the red enchilada sauce. When I brought this to the attention of my waiter, he told me that, they always are served that way . I assured him that they have not, seeing how this is the ONLY dish I have ever ordered from them and it has always come with just the cheese sauce. I don t like the red enchilada sauce and would know if it was served to me. The waiter continued to argue with me, never offering to fix my order or ask me if I would like something different. He just shrugged his shoulders and told me that I was wrong because it has always been served that way. I ate my rice, gave the chimichangas to my husband and the waiter cleared my plate. Upon checking out, I asked to speak to a manager. The girl at the cash register told me that I could let her know whatever issue I had. I opened their menu and pointed out the description of the chimichanga meal (found under their House Specials) and began to tell her about the meal that was served to me vs. what was printed in their menu. I also expressed the lack of good customer service by my waiter and how he stood at my table arguing with me instead of asking how he could fix it or at least offering me something else. The store owner was overhearing my conversation with her and decided to introduce himself. After replaying the whole conversation to him and showing him the menu as well, he shrugged his shoulders and told me, that s how they are supposed to come . I pointed out again that the menu calls for a different description, again expressed the lack of and poor customer service provided by my waiter and explained how long I had been a patron of Margarita s (always ordering the exact same menu item) and never having a problem. He offered no remorse or in anyways asked if there was anything he could do to fix it. He himself contradicted the menu and said that, even though it does not call for the red enchilada sauce, that is how it comes . I informed him that I would not be returning and could not believe even his own lack of support and customer service. Awful experience! How do you argue with a customer who has always ordered the same thing and even your own menu. right there, printed in black and white, contradicts the very words coming out of your mouth. Very disappointed and still hungry. I will never return nor will I recommend this chain to anyone else.
