Our visits to Hog Wild were just a cpl months after they opened and i really dont want to be hard on a local place since i do live here but i cant believe these good reviews, voted best new restaurant in wmsbg? PLZ. First of all you cant compare their BBQ or anyone elses BBQ to Pierce's, nobody even comes close (just my opinion) i had it and it was mostly fat, did not care for the greens either alot of stems in it. I also admit ive only been twice and the only reason i went the second time is because my mother wanted to go because she had never been, my wife n son didnt care for the food either, i thought it cost alot for the small amount of food u get. I like home cooking as much as the next person but we thought it was the pits.
Good BBQ but much more. One needs several visits to explore the menu. A little off the beaten path but well worth the trip. Word of mouth advertising holds up on this place. Anytime we are in the Williamsburg area this always has to be considered as a stop.
Good food, great service. MUCH BETTER THAN PIERCE'S PITT. It's off the beaten path, but if you want a little backwoods place with it's own charm, this is for you. It has a variety of sauces, Ribs, Pulled pork, brisket, gumbo, catfish, you name it. You can sit down and get a beer!
