I was only at this establishment for 15 minutes, and was thoroughly insulted by their manager because my party consisted of 9 people instead of 8. The manager was rude, inconsiderate, and unjustified in a response that was ultimately a mini rant about how the size of our party was already stretching the limits of his table size. (We called in the party size of eight 24 hours earlier) He then continued on, asking us to explain to him why we should expect him to do us the courtesy of supplying the extra space. Obviously, we left right then and there. There are too many restaurants in Memphis with good reputations to bother wasting your time on this one.
Saw this place from the trolley car while visiting Memphis Easter weekend. It did not disappoint. Got seated outdoors immediately in a prime location and was treated like a welcome guest. Had the most wonderul Crab Cake -Eggs Benedict that was their special that day. I could have eaten the whole basket of bread... it was THAT good. Went inside to use the restroom and was amazed by the shear size of the place. It is deceiving from the outside...very well appointed and classy. Food and service was impeccable ... It was a wonderful dining experience.
Had a cool experience, too. Also dining there were some of the Memphis Grizzlies; they'd had a game the night before. As I walked through their group of about 10-15 guys I felt like I was in a 'forest of men'.... I've never been around 7 ft tall men before ... kinda cool.
my wife and i were in memphis this weekend downtown. we decided to stop in the majestic as we walked by. we were accomodated immediately with a booth table. we were waited on promptly by a courteous server. we ordered our drinks and they brought bread and butter. the bread was so good. we ordered our food and it was served to us very fast. it was so good. my wife had the ahi tuna and i had a filet mignon. it was definitely one of the best steaks i have ever eaten/ great food great casual atmosphere and good service. we will definitely go back here again next time we are in memphis,
Love, love, love this place! The atmosphere is amazing, very 1940s Miami. We went on a Saturday morning and had a $3 Mimosa and a $3 Bloody Mary, both of which were fantastic. For an appetizer, we had the onion rings. They are huge and enough for three ppl. The smoked salmon hash was delicious, as was the artichoke flatbread. Their parmesan french fries are great as well. We will definitely be going back for dinner soon!
A cool, dark stop on a hot Memphis day, this place is a regular East Memphis haunt. During the Great
Depression, turnip green sandwiches were sold at this location, but the fare has improved greatly since then. The burgers ...
