Great ambience, right next to a creek, and they pump water up so it runs off of the roof, making a slight trickling sound. I think it may also help to keep it cooler in warm months...very clever. Really beautiful on the outside. A bit dated looking on the inside, and the restrooms were a little rough, looking more like a truck stop restroom.
We did not try the house wine, as we were not adventurous enough when it could only be described by our waiter by variety. Nothing with a name was available by the glass.
There was a bit of a wait for us on a Tuesday night in October...it seemed as they did not expect the number of people that were there, even though the restaurant was not full. They seemed understaffed.
Knowing that it was owned by the same people that own the Best Italian Restaurant (which I have visited on many occasions through the years) I ordered the Chicken Parmagiana, which was delicious! The salad was unremarkable. My wife ordered the Filet, which was a bit tough. My daughter enjoyed the vegetable lasagna. My younger daughter ordered from the kids menu spaghetti with butter sauce. We asked them to add a grilled chicken breast to it, which they accommodated for a $5 upcharge.
Overall, I loved the atmosphere, and it was quiet on a week night, but I felt it was a bit overpriced.
This is the greatest bar/grill in Gatilinburg. Jim and Angel and the staff even Lee are awesome. The entertainment was great. Aaron Kelly from American idol was there the night we were there 09/25/10. This kid just like the food is a #1 hit. Thanks Jim and Angel for treating us like family

We ate @ Bear Creek Grill Last night. I had Ribs, my wife had Trout. Both of our meals were EXCELLENT! We live in Charlotte, NC and usually cook @ home to avoid being dissapointed at our local 'fine dining' restaurants. It was a pleasure to dine out and truely enjoy the meal! The sevice was excellent, our waiter said that they are 'under new management' ... the reviews that we read after eating there were horrible! I recommend that you give it a try. The setting is quite unique, I highly recommend this restaurant. We will definately be back!
We unfortunately did NOT research this place before heading out, we just stopped because it was on the way. If you have hours to spare, no budget, and no taste buds, this place is for you. My family and I expected a good meal at a decent price in a relatively quick time. We were sorely dissappointed. Our waitress took forever to get orders, wouldn't refill drinks, and we waited for over an hour and a half from the time we sat till when we ate. Since we had two small children this did not go over well. And the total for four of us was $90. The food was TERRIBLE (although my brother did say the ribs were good) the steak was undercooked, the pasta horrible, and the shrimp over cooked. Since we had waited and the kids were getting terribly antsy, no one complained because we couldn't wait another hour and a half. I will NOT be returning to the Bear Creek Grill.
