Try out Edo Sushi, which opened in 1997 and is located at the Baltimore Inner Harbor. Warm up with a soup, choosing between the Miso and Shumai soups. Enjoy the appetizers like the Baby Octopus, Jelly Fish, and scallop salads. Finish with the Double Spicy Crabmeat Maki and Lobster Tail Tempura Roll. Wash it down with a beverage like Japanese Ice Green Tea or Ramune. Order a takeaway and let your friends relish the dishes you did!
I just recently moved out here from California. I thought I would never find a good sushi restaurant. I would have to say that I like this place alot. Fantastic customer service, great food and a beautiful scenery.
This restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of one of the Inner Harbor pavillions. The water view from any table is simply wonderful. I guess, however, you pay a heavy price to have that view.
Rated among the very best sushi in Baltimore, this restaurant - to our surprises - is not operated by Japanese. When we walked into this place and found out the staff speaks with the same accents as I do, I know I shouldn't expect the most fresh sushi money could buy.
The menu pricing is hideous unless you get there during Happy Hours (3pm-7pm) and only drink beer and eat appetitizers (which are 1/2 priced). For example, imagine paying $25-$28 for a sushi dinner that does not come with salad, soup nor dessert. You get the idea.
The menu offers some unusual maki rolls which are among the most creative and beautiful we ever seen, but for nearly $20 a dish, and considering the fact that the roll is simply made by the same kinds of fishes you could get from any average sushi restaurant, you know you're paying a premium on presentation rather than exoticness nor freshness of the fish.
Furthermore, the freshness of the fishes are just average for the price. They are fresh, but you could save 40% and go somewhere else and get the same kind and freshness of sushi.
So, a good place to impress your date. We did enjoy our super expensive dinner there because of the wonderful view.
