Red Kwali Restaurant
Red Kwali Restaurant is the latest sensation in "New Asian Cooking" serving delicious and flavorful cuisines! Our menu balances the classic dishes that our customers love, with flavorful twists with lemongrass, chilies, lime, sweet basil, kesom leaves, kaffir-lime, and exotic herbs and spicies inspired by Thai, Malaysia, Singapore, and other Southeast Asian specialties.
Went there with a big group (20 of us, I think). We chose this because Banana Leaf doesn't take reservations and it's kinda hard to get a table there. Food was decent, ambiance seemed good. If I am in the neighborhood again, and feel like malaysian food again I just might pop by.
We are glad that Red Kwali relocated from Newark to Milpitas which is a lot closer to home. The new Red Kwali shares the same beautiful interior design but the food has more twist now. Owner told us because the customer base in Milpitas is very diverse and they take into the customers' suggestions to plan the new menu. We found a lot of variety in both the lunch and dinner menu with different cuisines from the southeast Asian region. The food remains very flavorful and all orders are cooked fresh to order right in front of us in the open kitchen. Excellent Phad Thai and Mee Goreng Mamak for noodle dishes. Very good curry from Malaysia and Thailand.
I have eaten at the Milpitas Red Kawali several times. There Mango Chicken is devine and over all I found the food to be quite tasty and there was less of a wait than at the Banana Lead across the street. I took a larger group of 14 there for lunch and they were not really prepared to handle a larger group but still the quality of food was good though the service lacked.
I still think I would go back again if just for the pad thai, roti and mango chicken. Don't count this place out.
Loved it. I took my husband and his family here for his birtday to try a new Thai place. Our usual spot is Krung Thai by Valleyfair. We enjoyed the food without the crowds or loud, annoying people. The food is much tastier too. We found a new ASIAN restaurant to eat delicious food. We will definitely come back.
