Issy's Restaurant, Benicia

Don't waste your money or time going to this one. My husband & I went there for dinner last Friday. We both had enchiladas. His were Santa Fe and were supposed to contain chicken. What he found after he peeled back the tortillas were strands of chicken. Not pieces, but strands...While my chicken enchilada with ranchero sauce had more, it was not plump as it should have been. My other enchilada was steak. It contained small cubes of meat mostly full of gristle. We make a practice of supporting Benicia businesses, but will leave this one out. How they can serve this slop and think patrons won't notice and then return for more at a later date, is beyond me. Save your money on this one!

Great service. Very friendly server. One very low point: if you like you're chicken enchiladas with VERY little chicken this is the place to go. CHEAP!!

Went to Issy's for the first time last week. I thought it was quite small but the patio seating really helps. I tried one of their many enchilada dishes and couldn't stop dancing in my seat as I ate it. It was amazing. Issy's will be my new go-to place in Benicia for mexican food.

Great food, cozy atmosphere, and great waitress. If you go in make sure to order the steak, and ask for Lisa. She is the best. You get free chips and salsa and bean dip. And that is the BEST bean dip (and salsa), I've ever had. Many other restaurants charge for that.

Great restaurant. You can't get better Mexican food in the area. The fajitas are great! I always have to get a drink, they are mixed perfectly. If you go make sure to get a strawberry colada.

Issy's is the BEST mexican restaurant in Benicia! Every time Ive been there my food is served piping hot,full of flavor large portioned and not to mention the margaritas are mixed to perfection. As for the prices they seemed very inexpensive compared to other restaurants of its catagory. HECK ITS NOT TACO BELL !

I love Issy's. They have a wide variety of items to choose from, not just mexican food- seafood, steaks, burgers, and cajun calamari are all on the menu. The portions are huge and always fresh. As for the price, you get what you pay for- high quality ingredients at a fair price.

Always a little disappointed at Issy's. I've eaten here a few times, and never find it worth the price. The salsa is very good, but paying around $9. for a mediocre taquito(yep, just one) with some rice and beans doesn't make sense. They have a great patio, but each time I've gone I remember why I don't like it much.
