Ocean Beach Pier Cafe
The Ocean Beach Pier is one of the longest concrete piers in California and is a hangout for foodies. Named after its location, the Ocean Beach Pier Cafe is one of the many in the row of eateries. A small, intimate space with wooden tables gives it a cozy and homely look. The quantity of any dish you order here is visually appealing and surprisingly large. Pancakes, lobsters, fish and chips are as fresh and savory as home cooked food. Clam chowder and fish tacos are popular varieties served here. For something light on the stomach, go for a mug of hot chocolate and muffins for company.
After a great evening of fishing, my wife and I decided to try the cafe. WOW! Were we surprised! Usually, the types of places over charge you from crummy food, not the case here. The fish and chips plate was under 10 bucks for fresh cut fries and 3 huge pieces of fish. It was more than I could eat. The taco platter was a killer deal as well being under $10 one large lobster taco, coleslaw and clam chowder on a bun! This is a place we would visit again and again for the price, the food and the great service! The chef was very cool, giving us good fishing tips.
