Escellent Tapas. We got there early and got seated right away (we did have reservations). I was skeptical as I'd never had tapas before, but the food was AWESOME!! Great paella (the best I've ever head, after my wife's). Very nice ambience. You would definitely impress your friends by taking them there. I've since dined at other tapas restaurants and Zambra is definitely the best. I look forward to dining at Zambra the next time I find myself in Asheville.

Dinner at Zambra was great. The dinner lamb and bistro beef was absolutely delicious and tender. It was quite busy but we had a great waiter and the food came in a reasonable amount of time. If you are looking for quiet, this would not be the place; otherwise, a great place to eat, chat and even meet great folks.

My husband and I went here for our anniversary dinner and had a fantastic time. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was DELICIOUS! The entire dining experience was really special. We can't wait to go back!

Fun Food Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/19/09
I love going to Zambras with people who also appreciate good food. We had a great birthday celebration there the other night - lots of yummy tapas selections, great wine, excellent service. This is truly the best place to go with other "foodies" because you can order several selections and then share the experience with the others in your group. The wine list is extensive and everything on it pairs well with their menu.

We eat out a lot. Zambra was one of the best dining experiences we've had. The menu has lots of items we've never heard of before. And they were deligthtful. And teh small portion size lets you sample a number of menu items. You don't have to commit to one entree. Spectacular. Must do.

decent price for small plates and ambiance
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/10/08
Zambras is the place for semi-traditional tapas in Asheville. The location is fitting for a tapas bar, kind of underground and next to an alley. It can get kind of loud when they have live music, but often the music is accompanied by belly dancers. The cheese plate was tasty, though next time I'll omit the blue cheese-- it seems the "better" the blue the more it stinks. However, the portabella mushroom dish was excellent. Ambiance: Low-light, comfortable seating, close and intimate. Price: $$ - $$$

Fantastic! I experienced Zambra for the first time this evening with a large group of friends, so we tried most of the menu items, except the pialla. The dinning experience is set-up so you can order as you go, making the meal slower paced with time to enjoy a smaller course, rather than one monstrous plate of food; which brings you to a conclusion where you are not stuffed, but rather wholly satisfied. Among the top items that we all agreed were quite delicious were the pork spring rolls, sesame encrusted scallops and hangar steak. Zambra's extensive wine list has something for everyone, but we kept the bar tender busy fixing pomegranate martinis. Dessert provided that final sweet touch, with the Blood Orange Cheesecake being the star attraction. If in Asheville and searching for a dinning experience that is on a completely new level, go to Zambra!
