Beautiful decor and Delicious food plus courteous staff, what more do you want? I love Indian food and Royal India is exceptional! I'd recommend the classic chicken tikka masala and their Kabuli Naan to go with it, heaven in your mouth... And the Mango chutney, simply can't get enough! And the added bonus is that, you can eat outside. I can't wait to go back...
I tried Royal India last week and I could not believe that Indian food can taste so good. I ordered the Chicken Tikka kabab as an appetizers and it was flavorful, moist and tender. For the main course we tried Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Korma with Garlic Nan a. Good size portions of nice and lean meats in excellent sauces. I must say my dining experience was as good as it can get. A must try restaurant !!!.
My Girlfriend and I have been to Royal India restaurant 3 times in the last 4 months and are planning to go again this weekend for our anniversary. It is the perfect romantic restaurant in the Gaslamp. Great bar- indoor and outdoor seating. The food is exquisite and service is top-notch. Great wine list. If there was something there that we would fault it would be the dessert menu; we have eaten most of the desserts and the only one I love is the Pistachio Ice Cream.
Coming from UK, I eat Indian food often and I saw Royal India in the Gaslamp place in Down town San Diego. Royal India reminds me of tamarind Restaurant the best Indian restaurant in UK however the ambiance at Royal India is more Royal. The food is Punjabi style cooking I was told the owners are from Punjab and nobody know Indian food better then Punjabi's because I have Punjabi friends and their mom's cook one of the best Indian food. Delicious vegetable jalfrazie and spicy chicken Masala. Everything was awesome.
I am a vegan and was searching for a decent vegetarian place and mu co worker recommended Royal India and I went with my sister, I asked for help in suggesting something less spicy and vegan. The server was very helpful in explaining she mostly place an order for all the items. I had channa masala (chik peas) and my sister had bengan bharta (rosted eggplant) with garlic nan. ..Oh and for starters we had delicious samosa. I and my sister both had delicious food and fairly good service. I do suggest this place for nice quite dinner with lots of warm welcoming. Hostess there is superb and very helpful.
Good Indian food with great flavors and freshness. I have eaten in many other Indian restaurants but none of the restaurants come even close to the quality of food and service of Royal India. I would definitely recommend Royal India.
