STAY AWAY!! How this place is still in business is amazing. Went for a birthday celebration with group of 8 people. Waited for an hour and all we had so far was our drinks and two of us had some salad. When we asked waitress where rest of salads/bread was, she said she would get it. After another 15 minutes, we asked if our food was even started yet, and came back 10 minutes later and said it wasn t. She informed us that they often operate with no manager on duty any more and there was one cook and two waitresses working the entire place. Two other tables had waited for one and two hours with no food or finally getting food after 2 hours and had to take it to go. The food isn t even that good to wait that long. Called the next day and the manager made it sound like this happens all the time here and didn t really seem to care. Isn t it illegal to operate without a manager on duty? Someone should put a call in to close this place down. If you want to wait hours for your food and have a miserable dining experience - go here!
We LOVE the pizza at Mama Mia's. The crust is always nice and crisp, the service is fast (and I can never wait to eat my pizza and burn my mouth) and the toppings are always what we want. Last visit we decided to try an appetizer and that was yummy, too. Always have great, friendly service, enjoy the family atmosphere and are excited to hear they will be in Mequon now! Great to have you even closer!
My wife and I ordered a large deluxe and a order of cheese bread all totalled $29. In my opinion it is the worst pizza in the Mequon area. I could ve gotten a better meal at Domino s for 1/2 the price and that is saying alot. Our pizza tasted like it had been sitting for awhile and the cheese brick...I mean bread was hard and the cheese was plastered on it...like it was baked yesterday and put under a heat lamp all day. I would say try them out....but don t be shocked if you arn t satisfied. I know I will never go back..
My wife and I hoped to enjoy a rare date night. Mama Mia s in Port wasn t our first choice but we ended up there because the restaurant we wanted to try was closed. The service was ok, but not exceptional; the food was anything but exceptional, not even good. We started with Mama Mia s Classic Antipasto Salad one of their signature dishes. It consisted of iceberg lettuce, 3 slices of what looked like pepperoni, a couple sliced black olives and perhaps three peppers, topped with some shredded, apparently pre-packaged mozzarella cheese. When we commented on the antipasto salad , our server told us, that is how Jude (the owner) wants it We also ordered a pepperoni pizza, hoping that the pizza would salvage the dinner. unfortunately, it too was incredibly disappointing. Crust was hard and seemed to be coated in corn meal, apparently so hard that the server couldn t even slice through it so that every piece we tried to take from the pie, ended up tearing and breaking in half. I ve had much better frozen pizza than this. Again, after commenting to the server about the quality of the food, her only reply was, that s how Jude wants it . After paying our $35 check, we stopped at PickN Save to buy a bottle of wine to finish the evening. While there, we realized we could have purchased a nice bottle of wine and a great frozen pizza (Home Run Inn) for a fraction of what we spend at this restaurant. We will never go back and suggest that you don t waste your time or money either.
Very good food,
not very friendly service.
Food is delicious but can get pricey.
not a fan of the cracker crust pizza, would rather go elsewhere, but
their pastas are very good,
and their buffets are delicious!
