Bai Mai Thai
This East Side Detroit restaurant is known for its tranquil atmosphere and authentic Thai offerings. Decorated in a decidedly Thai-style theme, Bai Mai features comfortable wooden booths, handmade decorations adorning the walls. The dimly lit dining room featuring hushed reds and browns, offers a perfectly serene environment for a peaceful meal. With Thai music playing softly in the background, and the relaxing sound of an in-house waterfall, it's easy to forget about the hectic world outside. Make sure to try the tom yum goong (Thai sweet and sour soup with shrimp), a house specialty. If you've ever been to Thailand, you'll know that Thais love this soup, so if a Thai restaurant has good tom yum , you can be sure that the rest of the food is up to par; Bai Mai passes this test!
I am a Thai food expert! This place is fantastic! It is the old Sala Thai but they changed names because the owner of Sala Thai does not like the fact that they sell Brown Rice.. WOW I like brown Rice... the Pad Thai is great! the Pad Khing is so flavorful with the brown sauce... Their Spring Rolls are THE BEST EVER! Must Try! Super fresh and crisp with a delicious peanut dipping sauce... Their seafood fried rice is outrageously great! Deep fried ice cream is delicious! And they have a full bar! Must Go!
