Fantastic! Sarah made our wedding cake and it was delicious!! My husband has food sensitivities, so part of our cake had to be organic. Sarah had no problems fulfilling our requests. The cake was beautiful, too!
I also have to say that the Cakery makes THE BEST egg and cheese sandwich I have ever eaten!!!!
The Cakery, it’s my version of Cheers! A warm greeting when you walk in, great food and the pastry and deserts are to die for! Sara and her Mom, Michelle with help from sister(s) Deanna and Janelle create from scratch such charming servings of food as (that your own Mother wished she could prepare!) Traditional French Meat Pie, soups like Cream of Cauliflower and Lasagna Soup, omelets spilling over with ingredients so fresh that you want to slap them, and I have to mention the Meatloaf Sandwiches from heaven!
Of course the desserts are even better than the entrees! My wife has allergies (wheat, sugar and dairy products) and Sara makes a Chocolate Cake with a Peanut Butter frosting for her that sends her swooning! The offerings presented in the glass fronted counter can send even the pickiest pastry professional into a green-eyed fit of envy. Éclairs, cookies, and brownies, turnovers, Neapolitans and Biscotti, all great, and all made fresh on the premises.
I guess you can tell that I like it there! Nice people, nice food and a nice atmosphere. Sometimes it gets busy, which is not to be unexpected with such good eats. Just be patient, it’s the price well worth paying for fresh, made to order foods, and well worth it.
I give them two thumbs up and five stars!
The Cakery has 2 new fans. My friend and I had won gift certificates(from Woonsocket oldies shows that we listen to) and decided today was a good day to redeem them. We are not from Woonsocket but found it with no problem (also great that there's a parking lot across the steet). It is definitely very popular with the locals who know all the staff and were very friendly telling us about their favorites and all the other goodies available. We tried a piece of vegetable quiche which we thought was excellent-it being so light and fluffy (if we weren't going shopping after we would have definitely taken some home-we'll plan on doing it next trip). We had sandwiches - corned beef reuben and turkey with blue cheese on focaccia bread and enjoyed every bite. I bought a couple of fruit squares to go and have to say they were absolutely delicious-the crust was so light it melted in your mouth. This is definitely going to be one of our new lunch venues before heading across the city to our other shopping locations.
I love The Cakery! Sarah did our wedding cake and it was fantastic! She's willing to do odd designs, too. For my husband's 30th birthday I requested a cake with a Cthulhu dressed as a Viking with thirty D20's (that's a twenty sided die). My husband loved his Geektacular cake!
It's nice to have a local place where you can go in and relax, read a book, knit, what-have-you while enjoying a coffee and delicious pastry. We like going for lunch, too. Great bistro menu.
I have to say the Cakery is just amazing!!!! I had my wedding June 13th at the Coachmens in bellingham(HORRIBLE PLACE). My husband and I are from the area but moved out of state and came back to get married. The owner Sarah is wonderful. She was willing to answer any questions I had. They new it was going to be hard on us trying to get everything done from 900 miles away. I just cant say enough good things about there professionalism.
Now onto the cake OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WONDERFUL!!!!!!!! The chocolate was amazing and the frosting was out of the park!!! I have to tell you we had so much left over because I had less people than I thought I WAS SO EXCITIED!!! We ate so much of it on the 15 hour ride home. It was so wonderful.
If you are having a hard time picking a place to get you wedding cake from think no more. THE CAKERY IS AMAZING!!!!
Thank you guys so much. So many things went wrong the day of and the one thing that was so perfect was my cake!!!
Very nice setting. Comfortable. The food is always good. I had the chicken Santa Fe - LOVED IT. It isn't always on the menu, but I scoop it up when it is. I've also had the quiches - delicious. The service is great. The people are very nice. Only once, they were understaffed and it took a while to get my food. Frustrating as it was the food was good and they were very attentive otherwise. Highly recommend it.
