Valleyfair Amusement Park
This 100-acre park, opened in 1976, features the most thrilling and unusual rides in the area. Each year new attractions are added to the mix, such as the Wild Thing, a 207-foot tall roller coaster reaching speeds of 78 mph, with a 180-foot free fall. The park also has an IMAX theater, water park with numerous water rides, multiple children's areas, arcades, live music, shows and other attractions. Call ahead for varying dates.
The wait time in the lines to the rides were many times over a half an hour long. The waterpark was so crowded that I lost my 6 year old right when we entered! There is no pool in the waterpark only a shallow kids play area that was extremely overcrowded. Rides were fun but the lines were too long and the rides were very short. I was there on a Saturday in July, one of the busiest times of the year.
It is a fun place with food, rides, games, and all ages can go there. There is fast rides, slow rides, dry rides, wet rides, and more. It doesn't cost that much about around $30 that cheap for about 8-12 hours depends on the day.
I had bought tickets from Costco for $27.. I think that's the best deal for Valleyfair (You can also get discount coupons from BK, Cub Foods etc.)..
Many people have mentioned it's costly, but it's surely worth the price.. The roller coasters are very good & clean.. I had been to Cedar point, Vaellyfair is comparatively smaller with less number of rides.. But, this is best place for coasters in and around MN.. According to me Renegade is the best & fastest in park.. Wild Thing is longest ride in park & it's great.. We were sitting first in Renegade & Wild Thing, the wind hitting my face during Wild Thing ride was great fun! Steel Venom is super fast & scary, High roller is wooden coaster & surely great fun.. CorkScrew, Excalibur, Power tower etc. are other fun rides.. You should not miss any coaster rides!
I have 1 year old kid and I was surprised that there were so many rides for him! Small kids & moms have good amount of small rides to enjoy.. Food is costly as expected.. I had bought french fries & it was too oily! Thankfully we took home made sandwiches & water bottles.. You can also take some food along with you to save some $ & to avoid junk food.. (Lockers are available, check the map for details)
One of best thing about Valleyfair is that lines are small.. We had to wait for Renegade for around 20 mins, for rest of the rides waiting time was @ 10 mins only..
I love this place it is so fun to just go there and spend a day full of fun with your family. I really love valley fair because of all the chocies like for lunch there are a bunch of stands full of good food. Or you can pack a cooler and eat lunch at there beautiful picnic site. It is also has such a wonderful choice of rides. I also love going there on a hot day and enjoying the whitewater country waterpark. I love this place! I've went there every summer since I was three
Definitely a fun place for kids and families! The waterpark was nice but small. It is perfect for the little ones because they have a splash area for them. The amusement park rides were also fun. We only went on the family rides and kiddie rides which were comparable to the rides at the MOA park. It was pretty warm for Memorial Day weekend so we only stayed until 2-230pm. The food was reasonable. They were celebrating their 30 years and were selling cotton candy for 25 cents a bag which was a bonus for us because my daugther loves cotton candy. Food choices were good. They even had a Panda Express in the park which we thought was nice. The crowds were small and bearable especially with the unusual 90 degree weather. Overall, it was a good time.
I liked the fun and exciting rides! They were so much fun! The only thing I didn't really care for was the long waiting lines, but that is what you get when you go someplace where a lot of people like to go.
