Science Museum of Minnesota

Description

Built into the bluffs on the Mississippi River, this 370,000-square-foot museum features a hall of human biology and a large screen, 415-seat theater that supplements the museum's exhibits of dinosaurs and fossils. Rotating exhibits on everything from holograms to the human heart keep the crowds returning. The William McKnight-3M Omnitheater screens a varying selection of films. The state's longest reptile, a 40-foot steel iguana, guards the main entrance. Museum hours change seasonally, and are adjusted based on the seasonal exhibit. Please check their website for the most current hours.

I liked how you got to see and touch stuff and be able to have fun while you learn new things about science. i didn't have anything to say about what i didn't like because there was nothing that i didn't like.

Oversold
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/28/10
After paying $135 for my family of 5 to spend a Sunday afternoon at this Museum, we were unable to see the Special Exhibit of the Dead Sea Scrolls we paid to see. The staff had grossly oversold tickets for the exhibit and it was so crowded you couldn`t get near anything to see it. When I brought this to the attention of a manager at the Museum and requested a refund, I was flatly told they have a no refund policy and I was out of luck. When you add the $10 it cost me to park the car for 4 hours, this was an incredibly expensive afternoon. Save your money and visit the Shedd Aquarium or the Indianapolis Children`s Museum. They are much better value and their customer service is considerably better.

Kept the kids busy for way less $ than MOA!
By 3boys, 5/27/09
We arrived only a half hour after open & left @ closing-5. We have 3 boys:7,9 &11. They loved it! Tons & tons of hands on. We buy our local museum membership which has many reciprocal museums-this was one of the many. Therefore our visit was free. I highly recommend this if your family travels. The museum was well staffed with volunteers that were well informed & helpful. Museum was also very clean. Have been to many & in comparison, this one was very well kept. It was a wonderful day for the entire family! A must do for a visiting family!

Not too much for adults without children.
By Navi, 5/22/09
Other then the food, parking, and tickets being rather expensive it was alright. Not too much fun for me and my boyfriend (we're 22) There just seemed to be too many pushy, overexcited children, and its not a very big Museum. There were only a few exhibits that actually interested us and the permenant exhibits seem rather old. I wouldnt recommend planning to eat there for lunch, they dont have much to choose from and its rather pricey for what you get. It was a nice one time trip to see what it's all about.. but I dont think I'd go back unless they had a new exhibit that really interested me.

It's a wonderfull place to go
By Mariana, 1/25/07
I've been at the body world experience. It was wonderful. Was a great exhibition. The only thing that I thought that was inconvenient was the standing in the queue line. Beside that, the science museum is an unforgettable place.

Body World
By Heather, 10/8/06
I went to see the Body World exhibit. It was very interesting. I didn't have to wait to see the exhibit as long as I thought I would have to. I also saw the Human Body movie at the Omnitheater. Also excellent. The other exhibits were interesting as well. Definitely worth the $28 to see this exhibit. It wasn't gross like I thought it might be. There were several people who brought their young children. I personally wouldn't bring my kids until they were at least 10 years old or so. But to each their own!

A place for kids and fimilies.
By Patriots_zac, 5/18/06
Yes, yes it is. The science museum of MN located on a great location of St.Paul. If you have a chance to visit here, don't forget to do some picnic at the big corridor outside which will offer you and great view of beautiful and clean city of St.Paul. And there are many interesting things to see in the music such as music room and the twins collection room!
