This is one of the biggest attractions in the Mall of America . More than 3,000 saltwater and freshwater fish call it home. It is a progression of habitats with a range of species in varying ecosystems, ranging from a Minnesota lake to a reef off the coast of Belize. There are sharks, southern stingrays, endangered sea turtles, more than 100 sea horses, moray eels and other uncommon animals like the alligator snapping turtle, giant Pacific octopus and puffer fish.
Had a great time and the kids really enjoyed the varity of animals for the aquarium to the displays as you enter I would reccomend this for families with young children. We could have stayed all day by the touching pool and touched the sharks and rays.
This was by far the best aquarium that I've even been to. I loved the fact that you went through a tunnel that was underneath the aquarium! It was also pretty cool that they had some famous things there from a variety of movies (like the dress that was worn in Titanic). Overall this is a great place for everybody; kids and adults!
If you're at the Mall of America and like fish or nature, this is a must see. I've been to other aquariums around the country, and the Underwater Adventures is one of the coolest around. There are tons of fish to see, and they come up nice and close to the glass.
I didn't think there was really a whole lot to see here. The highlight, is the Tunnel, which is pretty cool. It's a clear glass tunnel that winds around with a very slow moving sidewalk, tranquil music, and viewing of all the fish & sharks in the aquarium. This is so neat, because it gives the impression of floating along with the fish, as you look into the water. At the end of the tour, there is a tank for touching sting rays, tiger sharks (don't get excited - they look like big goldfish), and something else that is considered a living fossil. Personnel were very friendly & helpful!!
