A popular cultural hub, this small city is located in the south western region of the Minnesota state. Shakopee, mostly known as the Minnesota river valley destination, is also the venue for the world famous Minnesota Renaissance Festival. The festival is a major attraction for tourists from world over and Shakopee being the host just adds to the popularity of the festival. A major tourist destination as well as an entertainment venue, the city has a rich cultural and art heritage.
If you're planning to go to the Renaissance Festival don't ever go on Festival Friday! Huge ripoff, half the food vendors are missing and the ones that are there have terrible food. All the wine stands are closed. And you find out after buying advance tickets that the Festival is selling them at the gate for a lower, discounted price.
There is a lot of fun things for everyone in the family to do. As you walk around you encounter lots of unique entertainment and skilled crafters. The food is plentiful and delicious and not too expensive. You feel like you have gone back in time to when knights battled dragons and kings and queens ruled the land.
I liked everything about it. The only thing I didn't like was the sun. It gets really hot there but that can't be changed. It doesn't matter what the weather is like though...it's still fun! I would reccomend it to all families of all sizes.
Alot of great Shows and Music too See and Listen to.
Great Food and Drink.
You have A Great Time.
Alot of things for Adults to do and see.
Not enough things for children to do or see.
Ticket prices are a little high. Season Passes are way too high. MN Ren Fest needs to make a pass for Families one cost not indivdual prices.
Parking needs to improve also when leaving the grounds have both exits open for leaving. not just the 41 exit for Shakopee/Chaska also use the 169 exit otherwise the traffic is too congested thru one exit.
