Don't expect a lot
By ,
We went expecting to see the Museum which was closed due to flooding and ended up taking the regular riverboat cruise up river. The captain provided interesting information during the first 10-15 minutes. It would have been better had they provided a seperate person to talk about the history of the river, uses, etc. Priced too high for what you get!

worst trip ever
By ,
On top of being with the biggest group of disrespectful Girl Scouts, they played the hip hop music soooooo looooooud that I thought I would scream. I felt real sorry for an older couple that probably had purchased a ticket and paid just as much for their ticket as I and the rude girls scouts had paid. We could not even talk to the person sitting next to us and we were on the top deck but just because the monkeys out of the cage down 2 flights wanted to dance to the vulgar and suggestive music, we had to listen to hogwash for 1 1/2 hours. Tunica Riverboat will never get another dime of my or my familys money. The skipper of the boat needs to be the boss and control his patrons better.

Was'nt worth the time or money
By ,
To start the ticket counter attendant was not at all friendly. It was more $$ than I expected and the hours were different than I had expected (found info on a website) Also, the little info/history that the captain provided was hard to understand due to the speakers (we were on the top deck) when the captain was'nt talking the music was way too loud for that type of outing. If I had the chance to do it again I would'nt!!

Updated Review

I read the reviews of on TQ and thought it would be a great anniversary weekend. Touted as relaxing, beautiful, delicious food, live band and pictures on TQ website of people sharing intimate dinner and people slow dancing in coat in tie. We took the wrong cruise! We sat at a table with 3 other couples in shorts and t-shirts who were already drunk. Food was ok one trip buffet. Live music was a DJ and the only dancing was club music and rap. Need to advertise as a drunken party barge. Plenty of better choices to spend $100

save your money.

first of all they advertise special rates for groups, but it's the same price for one or fifty. the dinner cruise is very overcrowded, they advertise live music, but they only have a dj, that only will play the type of music that is relevant to him. and for the dinner, it sucks. the boat don't have a paddle wheel, and the boat is very small and cramped quarters.

Nice change of pace

When you want to celebrate or to get away when luck has run cold, this is a great low cost, fun excursion. They do want to take your picture and sell it to you, but no pressure. Our trip was always around lunch. Food was good

I wanted to learn more
By ,
We did not take the dinner cruise, just the regular cruise. I really wanted the boat captain to give us more history, but after the first 10 minutes or so, he stopped talking. There really wasn't much to see other than the water and trees on either side of the river. They had a wonderful entertainer play banjo and sing on the bottom deck, which added to the nice atmosphere. They also sold snacks and drinks if you needed refreshments. I think it was definitly worth it to go on the mighty Mississippi, but don't expect too much.

Romantic Fun Scrumptious Relaxing
By ,
Wow, words simply cannot describe the dinner cruise on the Tunica Queen replica paddle boat. This three million dollar vessel, the cruise, the crew and the FOOD are all marvelous.

From the four course dinner to the walk on the upper deck, the evening was filled with sights and sounds of a time gone by. All the food is prepared on board in the ships galley. The TQ Prime Rib is roasted for four hours in herbs and spices that fill the entire ship with aromatic aromas to tingle ones imagination.

The two piece band kept the ship a rockin' with romantic tunes from the past. I walked around the ship watching the band on the big screen TV's and hanging out on the bridge.

Spend a relaxing evening on the Tunca Queen, enjoy a five star meal and take in an evening you will remember for the rest of your life.
