Summer Fishing Fun
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/26/05
I recently took my family to Corpus Christi to fish Baffin Bay. We ended up booking a charter with C&T with hesistation not knowing what to expect having kids along with us. I would just like to say that Captain Charlie Barrett is a great guide for kids. My kids liked him right off the bat and talked his ear off as we set off for some of Charlie's honey holes. Our plan was to drift rock piles with live shrimp under popping corks. This is an easy way for kids to fish and it worked for Charlie the day before, so we headed toward a proven rock pile. When we arrived, he showed the kids how to bait their hooks and work the corks as we drifted over the rocks. As I expected, my kids got bored pretty quickly, but shortly into the first drift BAMM!! Chloe hooked a nice trout. Then Cole hooked one. Charlie re-baited one line and, by the time I finished releasing Cole's fish and taking a few pictures, Chloe hooked into another. By the time we called it quits, we had landed our limits in trout, a monster black drum, and two oversized redfish all in a HALF DAY of fishing! In fact, our rods were bent most of the afternoon. It was by far one of the most exciting days of fishing in my life! Thank You Charlie
