Highland Still House
The Highland Stillhouse features Portland's best music and unbeatable drink specials. The unique decor is inspired by Scotland itself. We have combined the look of many of our favorite places, from different regions, to create a unique place that would look like no other. The Stillhouse offers a variety of live bands and Our well stocked bar and great bartenders will create any drink you can imagine. The Stillhouse has all the ingredients for a great time.
Food was great, but the bartender seemed rude. Took us awhile to get menus, as he was too busy with his phone. Once we got menus and ordered some starters things got better. The saute'd prawn appitizer was amazing same with fried mushrooms. The fish and chips is a must as with the beef pasty. I'll deffinatly be going back but hopefully we wont have the same waiter.
I do not recommend dining at this facility upstairs. I recently came in with my husband and daughter. We were no more than 2 steps inside the door when a large male bartender shouted at my daughter that he needed to see her ID (She is 36). We were startled at how abrasive his request was, and we were rather put off by it. Once we found an awkward table right next to the bathroom, yuk, we were greeted by a charming English fellow. He got us a few beers and was very apologetic about how horribly long it took for my daughter and I to get our cocktails. When my husband stated that we didn't like sitting by the bathroom our waiter found us 3 spots at the bar downstairs and let us know that there was live music playing. We had a nice bartender downstairs and she was nice enough to re-make my daughter's and my cocktails so that we could actually drink them (they were awful). Once a table opened up for us downstairs we had another lovely female waitress. We ended up staying the rest of the night downstairs because the music was entertaining and the two female employees were wonderful at making us feel welcomed.
We will never again sit upstairs, and will recommend that all of our friends avoid that area!
