Harp & Dragon Pub LLC, Norwich

This is one my favorite pubs around! The draft selection is great and the menu greatly exceeds expectations (they usually have kitchen specialties as well). I have had no issue with service, and since this establishment is primarily a pub (staffed as such and not a restaurant) I would ignore prior complaints about service.

My wife and I went in last night to eat dinner. We were seated around 5:45 in time for happy hour! The last time we went there for happy hour everything was great. However, not so much this time. Again we were seated at 5:45 and NO ONE came over to get at least a drink order. We ended up leaving at 6:10 with no service. We will not go back again. Very disappointed!

We met some freinds for dinner on Tuesday night. When we walked in there was no one there to give any sort of direction at all.. So we headed over to the bar to find out how to get a table. The bartender after walking by us many times finally got us a drink and said there should be someone over there. Made our way to find a table and we were greeted by our waitress who seemed to be rushing us to get our order in.. We ordered our apps Cottage chips and wings. These seemed to take FOREVER to come out of the kitchen and when she did come with them it was the wrong order..So back they went.. It was another 15 min or so before the correct apps came out and they failed to give us the correct sauce for the wings.. Then we ordered our dinners.. 2 people ordered burgers 1 well done 1 med rare. And the other 2 of us ordered Prime Rib sanwiches at 12.95 a pop.. The food took a very long time to come out of the kitchen and when it did the order was not correct..We had 2 well done burgers and the one that was supposed to be Med rare was ice cold.. So off it went back to the kitchen.. The server returned literally minutes later with another burger.. And never came back to check on us again until it was time to bring the check.. Well that burger went pretty much ineaten because it was still alive on the plate.. The prime rib sandwich was dried out and just did not taste good at all and was way below any of out expectations..We got the bill and for 5 draft beers and 4 meals it was over $100.00. And not once did anyone say how is everything or even I am sorry your food is taking forever or even I am sorry for the mistakes.. Would have been nice to see a manager at any point.. VERY DISSAPPOINTED!!

Have been to the Harp with the guys on a few occasions over the last 2 years and last night took the wife there prior to going the fireworks at Mohegan Sun. Place was empty at 7pm but the crowd started rolling in at 8; by 845 was pretty full. A lot of 50-60 types that used to be the hipsters 15 years ago (from Billy Wilsons) and the rest first timer types (guys) trying to look cool. Always founf the bar service good but dinner was dissapointing at best. The waitress seemed new and or unsure of herself and clearly didn't understand the concept of the beer cocktails on the back of the menu. My wife and I both had to repeatedly explain what we wanted, and then didn't get what we asked for (after 10 minutes). She delivered 2 beers and 2 shots and almost mixed up the shots. Later discovered out we were charged incorrectly for this round. Calamari was good; they prepared it as my wife likes it (not the way its described on the menu), but the wings (H&D) were the wrong flavor. They were poor quality, small and way overdone. My wifes salad was good but the corned beef rueben was pretty thin (better ones can be had locally), and the presentation was poor - thrown in a basket with fries. Can I not get a plate???Thought the food was overpriced as the bill came to over 80 dollars. This is not a good enough deal to frequent the place but if you want to stop in for a Guiness this is place. Want to come back over the winter to try the irish foods as these sound good but am hesitant. Also did not understand the several times the cookstaff(?) carrying huge pots back and forth through the place - maybe theres no back entrance??? Found that really uncool.

The last time I drove by there, which was the end of December, they most certainly were not closed. A lot of people, myself included, would have heart failure if they did.

This place has amazing food. The staff has a great attitude and the managers are great. We went there about 2 weeks ago for lunch after church and the waitress dropped all of our food. The owner came over and said we are so sorry and this whole meal is on me.. The bill was way over 100.00... They are great people with great hearts.. ps. you have to try their hot tenders.. amazing

Terrific!! Great bar reminds me of Boston Pubs.... Cornbeef sandwich is the best. Draft beers fresh and cold. Great service and friendly wait staff. Can't wait to bring friends there.

WOW .. I JUST CUT AN AD OUT OF THE PAPER ON THIS PLACE .. SOUNDED GREAT.. HOWEVER AFTER READING THESE OTHER REVIEWS I WILL NEVER GO THERE AH WELL CORN BEEF AND CABBAGE SOME WHERE ELSE I GUESS

well i would have to sat that ..the new menu is very un original and the general mgr should be ashamed of himself putting italian dinner items on an irish menu ...and yes chad i hope that u are reading this .i do not reccomend this pub
