BLD IS NOW ACCEPTING RESERVATIONS FOR PARTIES OF FIVE OR MORE DURING BRUNCH. Within its sunny space BLD (breakfast, lunch, dinner) is both a popular neighborhood spot as well as a great destination restaurant. This latest venture of husband and wife team Neal and Amy Knoll Fraser with partner Richard Drapkin, is another successful collaboration of the talented team from Grace Restaurant just down the street. At BLD diners can remain comfortable all day long in a friendly, upscale cafe atmosphere. The enticing space and the service are approachable from the moment the doors open early in the morning until they finally close late at night. BLD has become the go-to spot for all day gourmet comfort food. House-made pastries, salads, sandwiches, and more feature seasonal ingredients. The all-day charcuterie and artisanal cheese section may just be LA's answer to the ultimate bar food.
I went there for breakfast and had the spanish scramble it was horrible and did I mention salty I was very disappointed and sorry I went there for breakfast. I will not go back that's for sure. my rating is based on the food, one thing I will say though the service was really good but what is the point of going to a restaurant just because of the service.
The management or the chef must have changed or just got lazy recently!! A little over a year ago I used to come here every week because of the amazing food. Being a chef myself makes me very picky of where I dine. I ordered the chorizo breakfast potatoes because they were one of my favorites and the server brought me something black and bland with one charred lump of chorizo in it. I didn’t even think it was the right dish so I asked the server what it was and if it was supposed to be that color. He said he would bring me a new order and within 30 seconds brought me a plateful of the exact same thing, except darker. The breakfast pork sausage link was also dry and the food over all just a lot more lame than I remember. My girlfriends’ chicken sandwich was dry and bland and the bread was too hard to bite into. The chef needs a kick in the ass or the one from a year ago needs to get hired back along with the manager. He should be more aware of what is coming out of the kitchen!

Went at 1 in the afternoon on Sunday, there was a 45 minute (as they said). Once we were finally seated we placed our orders. It took 45 LONG minutes to be served our brunch. The menu was over priced and the food was fair at best. The staff was too busy to give the guests the attention you would except from a high-priced Sunday brunch. I will never go back again.
