Taj Palace Restaurants, Danbury

This was a very good restaurant. However, it closed down about 3 weeks ago and a new bar and grill is in its location.

Great authentic Indian food. The place is decorated a little higher-end which is nice. Food and drinks were excellent. Waiters and staff very helpful, kind & checked on us every few minutes to make sure we were happy. Definitely going back very soon!

A group of us had not lunched in an Indian restaurant for quite a while. Finally we got the chance to try Taj Palace out and had a lovely time. The dishes were perfectly flavored and satisfying. The lunch buffet had a great selection of veg selections as well. Excellent meal, affordable, and great service. Would definitely be happy to return.

Our family is a fan of Indian Tandoori dishes. We read an article and wonderful reviews about Taj Palace Restaurant’s Tandoori dishes in the newspaper few months ago. Finally had a chance to place an order for a take out. My family absolutely loved it! The Tandoori appetizers and Fish were delicious. We had ordered a Chicken Tikka Masala and a vegetarian cheese paneer makhni with naan bread, one of my daughter’s favorite dishes. The food was well prepared and the naan was so warm and delicious. We are Ridgefield residents and this place has turned around to be the favorites of our neighborhood. Its so convenient…Great place to be at

Rude and Stupid staff, Average Taste, Overpriced The food is average and overpriced. The staff (specifically one of the waiters - an old man) is stupid and rude. He passed some weird remarks on us and the food while serving and when not tipped for his bad service, literally picked up a quarrel with us. That was really absurd and insulting. I would not recommend the restaurant to anyone.

We dined at the Taj Palace for the first time. I ordered Chicken Makhni with a Taj Mahal beer. I am an Indian food fanatic and I can say the Chicken Makhni had a very delicious and rich taste to it. My wife is a vegetarian and ordered the traditional eggplant dish--Banghan Bartha, wihich had the perfect touch of Indian herbs to it. I have visited India, particulary the Taj Mahal, and am so glad to see there is a little Taj in Danbury as well!

A must go to restaurant! I had ordered the Bangan Bhartha and Chicken Tika Masala, which were both very tasty and excellent. My favorite however was the Lamb Briyani the waiter had recommended with the wine we had ordered. The food was simply delicious. If you are going to go on a Saturday evening, make sure to make a reservation because I had to wait about 20 minutes before we were seated. The food however was amazing, and definitely was worth the wait!
