Tony Albano opened Pazzo Italian Cafe in Glastonbury in 1999. Tony along with his two sons, Sam and Michael Albano run the business together. To own and operate a business with your family is a dream come true. Pazzo Italian Cafe has had many reviewers praising the consistent quality of food and service, which speaks for the cafes popularity for lunch and dinner 6 days a week.
I thought the menu selection was not very good and what they do have is too expensive for what this restaurant is. $19 for pasta with chicken and $24 for pasta with shrimp (no salad included) is expensive for this location. Staff was mediocre. The food quality was good. You can eat in a much nicer place, with a better selection, for what they charge.
Food was good. Above average, However, menu is greatly overpriced. Paid nearly 20 dollars for a vegetarian pasta dish. Chicken dish was 24 dollars. You can eat downtown Hartford a much nicer restaurant or at a celebrity chef restaurant in the casino for these prices. Overall a decent experience, but they need to realize that they are in rocky hill, not NYC.
If you are planning to enjoy a good quality meal for lunch don't even think of Pazzo. My wife and I were clearly disappointed from the moment we entered the Cafe, The so called hostess shuffled us to a booth, and then we waited for a waiter. Management is clearly lacking at this Rocky Hill location, and so is service. The only waiter seemed to be having a tough time handling the eight customers or so who were in the restaurant at the time. The Ravello Salad was soggy with saturated dressing. The added cold Chicken was not tasty. We expected fresh Grilled Chicken made to order like most restaurants do. The Barbecuse Chicken Pizza was edible, but not great. The Chicken was clearly lacking on the Pizza. Pazzo should call this a Microscopic Barbecue Chicken Pizza. One thing we did notice in the grill area were the chefs who were eating while preparing the food for everyone. Maybe that's where portion control Pazzo style comes in. I am surprised that this restaurant is making it in the highly competive restaurant business. The intent might be there to do better, but someone clearly dropped the ball.
