So, I was in Sheboygan on business as I am a sales rep that travels all over the country. I had gotten in late and the hotel I stayed at was off the beaten path sort of speak. The hotel clerk suggested I google Im Hungry Sheboygan. I took a look at the restaurants in hopes of finding some good pasta. I came acrossed Bourbon Street. Their menu looked good so I decided to get their Shrimp Alfredo.
Now, as I mentioned before I am a traveling salesman that goes all over the country so I have tried many different cuisines and have tasted the best food in the country. From my experience, I have learned three staple ingredients to Italian cooking. Garlic, Parmesian Cheese, and Salt n' Pepper. Unfortunately this dish did not possess any of the three.
The pasta was drastically over cooked. The sauce had absolutely no color, other than two pieces of sun dried tomatoe(alledgedly). The sauce looked as though the only ingredients in it was milk and flour to thicken the sauce. I dug my fork in and lifted the entire entree up out of the styro container. And the shrimp. Who really wants to dig their fingers into their meal to pull off a tail on a shirmp. I pre-cooked shrimp at that. Unfortunately for Bourbon Street, I will never try their food again. Fortunately for me, I won't ever have too.
I frequent Sheboygan a few times a year. I guess this is a classic example of restaurants should stick with what they know best. Its called Bourbon Street for the cajun roots. Next time I want Italian, I guess I will go to Lino's Italian Restaurant as suggested by the hotel manager as I was leaving town.
This bar/restaurant was awesome. 32 people from our group, went there for a Friday Fish Fry and the service was awesome. We were especially impressed that one waitress that took care of all our needs the whole night. Our drinks were very good, our orders were all taken at one time and the food came out hot and not a single mix up. We were not rushed even though they were very busy and probably needed the tables. We will definetly book this restaurant next year again. Very positive experience.
monica is an awesome bartender. her puerto rican and mexican look give her a year round tan and smokin hot hard body. she serves the greatest drinks and is an excellent conversationalist. i go out of my way to come see monica and give her a big tip. .
I wonder if the previous two people to write a review have ever eaten out before? First off, the service always sucks, unless you come in during lunch hours. The bartender at that time (I am un-sheboyganised and will not use his name) is prompt and very friendly.
Outside of those times, you had better be prepared to wait for long periods before you even see a menu. Happens to me every single time and I tip at 20%, so there's no way that I'm blackballed there.
And then there's the case I when again gave Bourbon St. one last chance, this was about one week ago.
My girlfriend and I again waited several minutes before we were delivered the menu's that we had requested. I should note that the three other customers were not keeping this bartender busy at all.
At this point I am already livid that we even came back. When our food had arrived, I dug in to my sub and nearly cracked a tooth. The bun was so hard that when I flicked it with my finger, it hurt.
So I ate my sammy with no bun, hurriedly finished my beverage and asked for our bill. Since it seems that you receive service only if you are a regular or at least a friend of the staff. Again, getting upset with the service, I indicated that I would please like the bill promptly as we were going to a movie.
The server first smoked a cigarette and then proceeded to furnish the bill to the bartender who had managed to not deliver the bill after it was calculated, again taking time to visit with her friends and owners rather than handle this last time customer.
I have never in my life had such miserable service and it has happened time and time again. I would rather spend such time opening cans of Alpo with a Q-Tip as a dinner treat than to return to this joke of an establishment.
