Mosaic Modern Fusion Restaurant and Lounge
Open since December 2004, it's easy to see why Mosaic is getting such rave reviews. Besides being awarded locally by the River Front Times and Sauce Magazine with the title of Best New Restaurant and Best Fusion 2005 and 2006, they are also getting national attention with such celebrities as Bill Murray and Dick Vital who dined at Mosaic during the NCAA Championship.
Modern fusion restaurant, lots of granite tables, high ceilings, tall windows and a beautifully designed bar with exquisite black galaxy granite top. We love the tender suckling pork, Manchego stuffed Quail, Korean BBQ Pork Apple ,Mango Caprese, and different Soups. Recommend this place to everyone. Nice romantic spot for two.
I have always been impressed with the food and service at Mosaic. This is a true St. Louis gem and it is refreshing to see the owner not only present on a regular basis, but also cooking! I would strongly suggest giving Mosaic a chance! The potsticker appetizer is the best! People watching is also a treat!!
Love this place! Every time I visit the restaurant/lounge I find a new special to try although you can't go wrong with the main menu items either. The Sea Bass is great. The Lobster Creole & Crawfish Risotto, WOW. I could keep going but I recommend checking it out for yourself.
Girlfriend, her small son and I stopped by for lunch. The waitress was standoffish and not attentive at all; she also reached over my plates to refill my tea. We ordered seasonal grilled veg, my impression was that they'd be hot -they weren't; all cold. Came with small tomatoes (seemed to have thousand island on them) they were good, small piece of goat cheese, good, artichokes (canned/jarred) beets (canned/jarred, but cut into nice slender pieces) and stringbeans which were hard. Ordered hummas ( topped with canned olives) was ok. Friends son ordered mex pizza (special) gross. Was tacobellish. We ordered the burgers, bacon was generous and very good. Burgers were burnt/charred. Another waitress was helping our original (not sure if they tagteam?) but she was an odd one. Not sure if she was new or just weird...Overall would NOT recommend. Food was lame, prices were high, service was subpar...go elsewhere!
I was pleasantly surprised by what a good food town St. Louis was during a recent trip. Mosaic was the best- for food and wine. The Za'Atar lamb was stunning. They had several good Rhones and Shirazes to go with it and I sampled a couple. Prices are reasonable, too. Just make sure to sit outside because Missouri is apparently one of the few states that still allows smoking indoors.
I appreciate the lower-cal naked chicken sandwich being on the menu. Ordered it without bread or garnish and it was a great selection to stay on a lighter eating regimen. Next time I'll also tell them to hold the fries.
My husband took me here as a surprise for our 4th wedding anniversary. Let me tell you, it was so awesome. The decor is beautiful, and the food was to die for.The wine was sweet and smooth. We had shrimp, scallops, artichokes, soup, salad, beef tenderloin, asparagus, and they brought us out 2 desserts because it was our anniversary. The service was excellent, and the waitress was so sweet, and helpful. The chief even came out and thanked us. This was truly the best food I have eaten in a llllllllooooooonnnnnnggggg time. You will not be disappointed!
The first time I went, it was great. The second and third times I went, some tapas selections were good and others were just not good at all. I'm not a picky eater at all, but I know when something is amiss. I hope they can fix the consistency issue...
I go about 1-2 times per week. Always have really great service and the food is amazing. I get the mozzerella salad, their plate of cheese (which is one of the best in St. Louis) and an amazing desert. I love this place.
