I do like the idea of pizza crust in lieu of bread. People it is COMPLEMENTARY so if you don't like it just don't eat it!!! The food wa good I had baked zitti and my husband had chicken. We went on Valentine's day and I do agree with other comments that they need to be more organized and need to get better on their customer relations. This is the 3rd time we eat there and it's been overall a good experience.
The food is good and well priced. it has a nice atmosphere. my only problem with this restaurant is that they serve plain pizza crust sliced up into wedges as the bread for your meal. what happend to good italian bread?
I have only been to the northside restaurant and we just LOVE it. The food is always hot and delicious and since the son took over, it is even better. The outside porch is wonderful on an cool evening and even though we live 25 miles away, we try to make an excuse to go to Lakeland and frequent one of our favorite Italian restaurants. After living in Brooklyn, NY for a large portion of my life and going to great Italian restaurants in Bklyn, this is the closest thing to being back in Brooklyn. Keep up the good work!!!
I am from NJ and very used to really good Pizza and Italian food, if you are too this is the only place to go! The food is fabulous and the staff is friendly and happy that you are there! What a fun place to eat, but if you are going on the weekend get there early! Love IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The people of Lakeland and surrounding areas have been gazed apon fondly by the dineing god's.Our party of 5 were greeted, seated and promptly waited on by our server Lisa, who was there for all our needs without being intrusive. Appitizers were wonderful from the Calamari Fritti to the Bruchetta antipasto. The salads, crisp and fresh garden delights. Entree's were wonderful and very generous, all five of our party left with carry-out's!! Desert, needless to say was made room for, and it too was enjoyed to the Max...If fine, truly fine Dineing is something you enjoy, then you owe it to yourself and your party, to experience The cuisine, atmosphere and service at Palace Italian on HWY 98 in Lakeland...2bald men in black shirts;)
My wife and I have enjoyed Palace Pizza for years. We have frequented the downtown location loving their hand tossed pizza. Last night we tried one of their newer locations, this one is on the north side of Lakeland in the old Jaybirds Barbecue building. The restaurant is nicely decorated with beautiful wall murals. When we sat down and ordered our drinks. We were served plain baked pizza dough with a red tinted liquid that tastes like water. The pizza dough was acceptable as an appetizer but I have no idea what the reddish tinted liquid was supposed to be. We next ordered our food, my wife decided on the pasta fagioli, I was looking forward to my favorite pizza. After about a half hour I asked where our food was, they commented, they gave my wife’s order to someone else, however, at that point our dinner was served (it would have been nice to know what was going on). My wife’s pasta fagioli was nothing more than white beans with what looked
like the white juice that comes with a can of white beans, no meat, no red beans, no pasta, no taste, it was awful. My pizza was supposed to be supreme with five toppings. I have had more ingredients on a one topping pizza. The sauce wasn’t very tasty either, must be the same red liquid for dipping your plain pizza crust. Poor service, poor food, not recommended. My colleague at work said he had a similar experience when the north side restaurant opened over a year ago, he had ravioli which tasted “Chef Boyardee”. I will still frequent the original downtown location and highly recommend their pizza. I only wish they expanded there operating hours on the weekend.
I have been to this particular restaurant a number of times-- but today will the last time. We had a snooty waitress who informed us that this was not a pizzeria-- we could only get personal pizzas at the table there. Well fine-- I find this just another way to charge more money to people. The food was ok. The price was high for what it was. The restaurant was very slow-- probably because they want to charge 5 star prices for a 3 star place. Oh and by the way-- I have been to 5 star Italian restaraunts that serve large pies. Palace Pizza people wake up.
My girlfriend and I have been here twice and we loved it both times. I believe Lakeland dining establishments are very sub-par, compared to... anywhere else I've been.
But the Palace Italian was reasonably priced, and the food and service were excellent! I highly recommend this place to everyone!
