Ryker – well said. I love this place. The prices on drinks are a bit high (Seattle-esque) but the sophistication and quality of service from the waitstaff and bartender makes up for it. Tacoma has needed this for years and it is the establishments like Asado and Masa that are changing the face and sophistication of 6th Ave and Tacoma in general. Outstanding food, drinks and service. I love coming here for drinks with friends.
My boyfriend brought me here to celebrate my birthday in March. The place was very nice and the waiters/waitresses and hostess were very friendly. They even offered me a blanket to cover my legs because of the chill always coming through the doors. When my boyfriend made the reservation over the phone he mentioned it was my birthday. He said the hostess had marked it down. But when we were there no one sang happy bday or anything else. We overheard someone else being sang happy bday to while we were there. Although, I would've felt embarrassed if they did, why would they write it down and not do anything? Also, the food was good but a bit too pricey for the amount u get on your dish. We left the restaurant still hungry.
Outstanding, sophistocated, Seattle-caliber restaurant in Tacoma. The steaks are top-notch, as are the cocktails. We went on a Saturday night without a reservation and had to sit in the bar, but a great experience.
Some of the best food in Tacoma. The French ribbed steak is gigantic and tasty and the polenta is to die for. Make a reservation and take your time dining here, but bring your wallet cause you won't get out for less than $75 a person if you plan to have wine and a full dinner.
...because while the food is great and the drinks are even better, the acoustics are quite possibly the worst of any restaurant I've ever been in, and you won't be hearing most of what your dinner companions have to say. It's gourmet menu meets sports bar atmosphere. The staff, as a whole, seem efficient, but annoyed - quite possibly due to the fact that they are surrounded by a barrage of clanging & banging from the exposed kitchen and yelling because no one can even hear themselves, much less the others around them. Who wouldn't be annoyed? And don't think this review is coming from a crotchety Senior Citizen, I'm in my early thirties. Noise, noise, noise and good food.
Steak & chicken with flavor, stylish decor and comfortable seating! I've eaten here several times and they never cease to impress. Friendly informative service as well! The secret is out though so expect crowds on Friday & Saturday evenings, be sure to plan ahead! Outdoor seating on those warm days! :)
