This is a great New York style pizzeria! This is what pizza should taste like, made with fresh ingredients and freshly made hand tossed dough. Although, the Sweet Basil is a very small restaurant with limited seating, you will not be disappointed after taking a bite. Customers have their choice of pizza by the slice, whole pie pizzas (18”), calzones, and salads along with selected beer and wine available. Closed on Sunday AND Monday presents the only real downside to this restaurant, but whatever way you have it, the Sweet Basil Pizzeria is a sweetly satisfying meal.
This is by far one of the best pizzas I have ever had. Obviously the first reviewer does not have any taste. I have traveled all across the world and this pizza puts me right back in Italy. As far as the place being pretentious, not even close. Very nice atmosphere and a completely casual feel. As far as the price, again obviously the first reviewer has not been out of Walla Walla. The prices at Sweet Basil are right on with all other true pizzerias. The quality is excellent and to even use Pizza Hut in the same sentence is a shame. I would highly recommend this pizzeria and by the amount of people in there every time we visit so would everyone else.
First let me say that this is the best pizza place in Walla Walla but that is hardly a compliment. The quality of the food is above average. However, like the throng of pretentious restaurants in Walla Walla, the quality of the food is far diminished by the value. My girlfirend and I ordered a large pizza with two toppings. It was almost $25. Usually when we order a large from anywhere else we have lots of leftovers. We finished this one and were both still hungry enough to go out and get more food. Ridiculous. I generally don't care for fast food pizza like pizza hut but I can buy two pizzas and bread for the price of one pizza there. If the quality of the pizza was mindblowing I could justify the cost but I have had much better pizzas from speciality makers for much, much cheaper. 3 stars for the taste, 0 for the value.
As close to true Italian pizza that I have found in my US travels. Good place for kids. I would recommend resetting the place in order to accommodate more guests inside. If you are in Walla Walla, don't let Sweet Basil pass by.
