The lunch’s are average, you can get a good sandwich. But the dinners are poor. We went twice this last week, and both times, the dinner meals were terrible. The first meal was a stir fry. The meal consisted of the normal mix of dinner vegetables they use as a side, placed atop tepid white rice, and way too much sauce poured over the top of it all. The second meal was a salmon steak. The salmon steak came out the kitchen looking like a fish stick, Instead of being lightly seared on the top and bottom with pink tinder middle, the entire outside had been coated and cooked all over to the point it resembled a very expensive fish stick. To top it off, it came out with tartar sauce. It’s obvious that there is no chef, and the cook has no style or knowledge in his craft.
Charming casual atmosphere, great foot, great prices, large portions, and a friendly owner who remembers your name and order. Absolutely a local favorite! If the weather is nice, be sure to sit outside and enjoy the view of downtown Sutter Creek.
Currently only serving breakfast and lunch.
Whenever we visit Sutter Creek, we make a point of having our meals at Thomie's. Their breakfasts and dinners are really fantastic and very reasonably priced. The atmosphere is casual and classic. The place is very small and cozy, so be sure to go early for breakfast. They require reservations for dinner, but it's worth it! The hostess is charming and funny, and lots of locals eat there so you know it's great. They also do some catering.
