The Olive Branch Mediterranean Restaurant
The Olive Branch is a Mediterranean restaurant with a diverse menu that should satisfy both meat eaters and vegetarian alike. An extensive appetizer selection features Mediterranean favorites such as humus, baba ghanoush, falafel, fried kebab, grape leaves, and esfiha. This in addition to more traditional fare, such as chicken strips, mozzarella sticks, fried zucchini, and buffalo wings. There are multiple salads, an assortment of sandwiches served on pita bread, and a range of entrees featuring lamb, beef, chicken, and seafood.
Food was overdone, though seasoned nicely. Overpriced, saloon type atmosphere... for 2 dinners, coffee & ice tea, it cost over $65! And the coffee was $4 - some sort of espresso that was grainy and not even full flavored.
We were the only customers in the place and one person served, bussed and cooked
This place has a lot of potential. It could be the next big hang out. I talked with the owner and he mentioned Friday night salsa dancing and Thursday swing starting in august. I like dancing and the dance floor is huge. There is also an outside smoking patio. I liked the food and will definitely come back.
Food was good, but we were the only people in the restaurant at the time and it too FOREVER to get served. Our waiter would rather watch tv than refill our drinks.
AND they tried to overcharge the tip on my credit card. I spoke with my CC company when i saw my bill and they fixed their problem. It was no accidental wrong key, they did it on purpose changing a 10 dollar tip to a 20.11 tip.
There are more reputable restaurants to eat at around tempe. There are also cheaper places which are just as good if not better.
Too bad it yahoo wont let me give a rating of no starts, it requires at least one.
Do not go here, go somewhere else.
I believe that the staff of this restaurant wrote these other reviews. Check Yelp.com for a better idea of how the restaurant really is. Do not eat here. The place was empty on a Sunday night and neither our table nor the adjacent table was clean. The hummus had too much garlic and the grape leaves were chewy. The lamb dish was way overpriced at $22. I tried to use a restaurant.com coupon that the owner had signed up for and he flatly refused to honor it. He was very rude and apparently does not see the long term benefit of treating customers fairly. I will not return to this restaurant.
This is hands down the best greek resturant I've eaten at, and one of the best overall. The staff is great, food is absolutely amazing, They have wonderful events that regularly go on and feature many types of music and local DJ's, belly dancers and singers. I recommend this to everyone I talk to!
