Stay away from this place. It was my first time there and it was one of the worst dining experiences I ever had. First of all, it was so loud in there I couldn t have a conversation with my girlfriend without shouting. The tables are so close together, you are literally eating with other patrons. The waitress we had was a mess. She cleaned our table with a rag AFTER we asked for our check, but didn t bring the check. When she cleaned the table while were waiting for her to bring the check, she pushed food debris all over us. We asked for the check again and she says excuse me a minute and then takes the order from the table next to us! Meanwhile, were waiting for the check...and waiting and waiting all because she decided to take an order first. It was so bizzar. I was starting to think the meal was for free. When the check finally did arrive about 15 minutes later, she overcharged us by approximately 18 dollars. Bottom line, unless you like eating in a cafeteria style place decorated as a Japanese restaurant, dont bother. The food was just ok. Not worth the dining experience, especially at this price point.
This is my first time commenting on a restaurant, but I certainly felt it was warrented given my recent experience at Yumi. I was there for my first time a couple of weeks ago for lunch. The food was outstanding, combining taste, artistic presentations, and creative combinations. Although the lunch crowd was a bit thin, I hear the place gets very busy for dinner.
I don't recall exactly what I had, but do know I tried the shrip cone app. as someone else reccomeded and it was great. The pace of service was perfect. We all ordered multiple rolls and didn't get the typical throw everything on one plate service. Every roll came out as a seperate course, keeping the meal very entertaining and relaxing.
I highly reccomend this place and will travel there again (repeatedly I think).
I'm yet to find sushi that I enjoyed more! Surprisingly, i went on a Friday night as a party of 4 and got seated immediately--however it was crowded so I would suggest reservations. Definitely not a kid-friendly place, the ambiance is too quiet and relaxed. It is everything you would expect of a Japanese resturaunt and more; the hospitality was wonderful and even the dessert menu was devine! I recommend ordering a bunch or small dishes, appetizers, and rolls to share, in order to get a little taste of everything. This was genuinely one of the best 'out to eat' trips I have had in a long time! 5 stars to the food service and value; 4 stars to ambiance only because it was a little crowded, being that the resturaunt was on the smaller side. Nonetheless, when in Sea Bright, Yumi is a must!
