I have eaten at this restaurant many times and always have enjoyed it. The menu is quite reasonably priced with many meals (including the sirloin steak marsalla which is among the tastiest steaks anywhere) priced under twenty dollars. I have often paid twice as much for food that was half as good.
Given the excellent food and reasonable prices it should be no surprise that the restaurant is often quite busy during peak meal hours, so it is best not to show up here when you are half starved and in a rush for a meal. They do not accept reservations so you can expect to wait at least fifteen to thirty minutes for a table and up to an hour or more on weekends and holidays. 2-for-1 drinks during happy hour includes call brands like Absolut, Bacardi, and Johnny Walker.
After you are seated you should expect the meal to progress at a leisurely pace. Meals are freshly prepared to order, so when the restaurant is full it can take some time for meals to be prepared, leaving plenty of space for wine and conversation while you enjoy complimentary fresh baked bread and herbed olive oil. Ask for a plate of fresh grated cheese to dip your bread in along with the oil. Mmm.
My favorite dishes are the Chicken Bryan, which has a tangy chicken breast topped with goat cheese and sun dried tomatoes, the sirloin marsala, which comes topped with mushrooms, and the traditional lasagna which is wonderful comfort food. For desert try the Sonia De Chocolate, which is big enough to share with a friend or two or three.
The ambiance is nice but not stuffy, perhaps along the lines of Red Lobster or Outback. It's far above a Chile's, but far short of true fine dining. Service is almost always in line with the prices on the menu, and quite often even exceeds what you should expect for the price and quality of the meals.
You can dress or up, or dress casual is also acceptable; in this location some men even wear khaki shorts with a neat shirt.
My four star rating is based on the value per dollar of this restaurant versus other similarly priced places.
Went to this location with friends for dinner. Had the worst service EVER recieved at a resturant. Our waitress was awful. She was slow to bring us everything through the entire meal. Refused to bring me a box for my leftovers, stating company policy that they had to be boxed in the kitchen. I have eaten at Carrabbas many times and have never heard this. I asked her to bring the box to my table and do it there, she got an attitude and huffed off and returned 20 min later with said box. She then proceeded to put her thumb in my food and never acknowledged that she did anything innapropriate. She became obnoxious with our table when we corrected her nicely. I got up to find a manager and when he came to our table and talked to us he offered NO solution to the problem!! He did state that she was working a large table on the other side of the building!! We were not offered to be comped, or have anything taken off the check, or that there would be anything done about the problem. To make matters worse, our waitress was standing right at the table the whole time he was there. Unbelievable!! Needless to say, we won't be returning to this location ever again.
