Rubens Que Soul Food Restaurant, Indianapolis

I stopped at this restaurant after seeing Ruben outside grilling. He let us sample his rib tips off the grill. The food was excellent, we had greens, fried corn, mac & cheese, peach cobbler, lemon cake, fried corn and green beans.The rib tips were great as well as the chicken. We also got to sample some of the other dishes. You could tell the food was homemade right down to the sauce. The people there were so nice and friendly. We have been going ever since. It was GREAT!

from their homemade peach cobbler to their tender rib tips, you can't beat the prices or the southern hospitality that you receive as soon as you reach the door. not only is the food good but you can also sample before you buy.everyone should give this small hometown restaurant a try.

We don't live close to Ruben's, so didn't know about their food -- but, my brother who was visiting from Oakland, California went to see the Speedway, and found Ruben's when he was headed to our house for a Sunday night visit, to watch the Colts game. Man oh man ... he'd chowed down already on a variety of the sides, and on chicken and ribs, and brought us ribs and rib tips, and cobbler -- we all REALLY enjoyed the food! Delicious sauce, and the ribs were tender, but with a nice chewy bite. We thought we'd have leftovers .... but ate everything he brought! Craving some of that good food right now ... !

OMG! That is all I have to say. The best Ribs in town!!The sides are off the chain. It will make you slap your momma. Ruben know exactly how to fix an down home meal. Loved every minute of it.

This was the worst food i've ever tasted!!!! After reading the reviews, I thought i'd give it a try, but I wish I hadn't. I ordered rib tips and they were boiled, had NO seasoning, and the sauce was watery without taste. The mac and cheese tasted so bland. Once again, no taste and it looked like curdled cheese and I can swear the greens came right out the can! I am sorry, but I wouldnt recommend this place for anyone!!!! I had to go home and season and tweek everything I got from there. It was truely unbelievable!!!

My Name is LaRue I have been going to Rubens for 3 years the food is excellent. I have even used them for many catering events. Gloria, Deborah and Ruben have been excellent and there son as well. I have tasted about everything that they have to offer. My family members and co workers have been pleased as well

From greens and pigs' feet to lemon cake and the most mouth-watering fried chicken you're ever likely to taste in your lifetime, go find this long-treasured local landmark before the tourists catch on. Please save me a sit by the door.

When we speak of service with a smile, Rubens Que Soul Food Restaruant sets a high standard unreachable. I felt as if I was home, back in the days as a young boy, waiting for grandma to finish supper. They truly catered to all my needs. The Turtle Cake had me yearning for more, even an hour later! Myself, not much of a pork eater but I heard from a friend about the ribs; Delicious, tender & they taste great even w/o sauce. If your in this area of town, please stop by...you'll come in hungry but leave satisfied!
