I have been having dinner at this place for 7 years last one was on Nov. 15 2012. Food was ok services was pitiful, Manager was not at all concerned when i spoke to him about the service . It took me 45 minutes to pay for my bill when there was hardly any crowd in the place . NEEDLESS TO SAY I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE.
I GIVE IT ONE STARR RATING.
What a disappointment. We have eaten Easter brunch here since it started, and brunch throughout the year. Normally, the brunch is $19.95 and worth it! $4 bottomless Mimosas and exceptional service. Everything was wrong today, and a total rip-off.
The website showed the normal price for the Easter Brunch. We brought my Mom who can barely eat due to Lou Gehrig s disease. We were fine paying $19.95 for her to eat mashed potatos and join us for Easter. We find out when we arrive that the buffet price has increased to $29.95 for Easter. $12.95 for our 7 year old to eat instead of the normal $4.95.
Not sure why the website would not give the price increase. Anyway, the food is normally fantastic and the service great. They put in 25 extra tables for Easter, so it was so packed you could not walk around tables to get to the mini buffet. No prime rib, ham cut so thin it was almost shaved ham, raw green beans, no cinnamon rolls, and under cooked chicken. No additional servers were brought in, so service was terrible. Dirty plates sat on the table with empty soda/tea glasses.
So many people loved their normal buffet, they decided to tune it up this year, which is what the manager told me when I complained about the extra $24 dollars on my bill for coffee, orange juice, soda and iced tea. Drinks have always come with the buffet at $19.95. Now at $29.95 they decided to charge extra for drinks?????
Bottom line, food & service were lousy, and the price was a bait & switch. Hope the extra $50 they made from us today makes up for losing us as customers, plus all the people we now tell not to go there, when we used to recommend it to everyone. I will also make sure my company has no future business dinners or lunches there again.
M & S Grill can be summed up very easily. The food was bland, the service left much to be desired especially basic math proficiency, and the atmosphere was similar to that of a God Father movie (dimly lit, beige and tan with horse heads all over the walls). Mark it off the list as having been tried but there are many more restaurants within walking distance that are much better.
I usually dont clean my entire plate when I eat out. Im always coming home with a doggie bag but when I went here OMG!!! I cleaned my plate and had the best long island iced tea!! Definately will return. I recommend the stuffed chicken.
We went here tonight for my husband's birthday and it was wonderful. The food was excellent and our server, Donald, was superior. It was our first time here and we will definitley go back. The T-bone and filet were to die for. Thank you for giving us such a pleasant experience.
I went here Christmas Eve with my boyfriend and his two brothers and was very impressed. The place was packed - fully booked - yet the service was absolutely impeccable! The staff there are really professional and the very friendly head manager that night checked with us twice to ensure that we were enjoying ourselves.
Regarding the food, we all agreed it was excellent. I really wasn't sure what to expect at first considering that M & S is a chain. One of the men in my party is a head chef at a seafood restaurant and he was very happy. He pointed out to me how perfectly the meat was cooked and how nicely the spinach was steamed. He was also pleased with the wine the waiter chose for him to have with his lamb entree. I chose the pepper crusted ribeye, oscar style, and absolutely loved it! My only suggestion is for M & S to add a lobster tail and filet mignon entree, especially for special nights like Christmas Eve - my boyfriend was a little disappointed that he couldn't order a traditional surf n turf. Otherwise 5 stars all across the board. I will definitely go back!
M&S grill in the Plaza, right across from the Cheese Cake Factory offers a wide variety of seafood dishes. Their fillet mignon is not too shabby either. This resturant offers a very romantic ambiance even though the noise level is a little high. Service is excellent and so is the wine list.
I was a little disappointed when it took 15 minutes to be seated in a non crowded restaurant. Several servers just walked by as if we weren't standing there. When we were finally seated the server seemed a bit impatient with us. I noticed the difference in the way we were served and the way the couple seated next to us were served. It made me a bit uncomfortable. The food was ok. A little overpriced for the portions given. The appetizer was ok. The dessert was overcooked. It wasn't my greatest experience at a restaurant on the Plaza. I left with $93 worth of unhappy memories.
