Description

Come in to Amir's Kabob House and enjoy authentic Afghan cuisine in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. In addition to our delicious kabobs, marinated with pureed onions, garlic, and fine spices and made to order, we serve a variety of traditional Afghan appetizers, soups, salads, and desserts all priced right for your budget. To view our lunch and dinner menus, please click here. Owner and head chef Mukhtar Amir, whose family left Afghanistan when he was a child, bases many of the menu items on family recipes. A graduate of the CSUMB School of Business, he opened the restaurant in 2005 as a labor of love. He and his wife, Dolores, strive to make all their guests feel comfortable and welcome, and to offer the best meal around. They are very pleased that Amir's Kabob House was voted Best Middle Eastern Restaurant by Monterey County Weekly readers in 2008 and 2009.

Great food and service!: The chicken and beef kabobs are excellent. The salmon and lamb are very tasty. The chutneys add the right type of spice to your foods. The flavors to all of the foods wake up all of your taste buds. The appetizers are also very delicious and there are also wonderful desserts if you have room. On certain evenings of the month. there are bellydancers that perform around the dining area. Overall a great place to be to enjoy some great food with a wonderful staff.

Delicious meat...but portions too small

Had the lamb kabobs...best tasting lamb I have ever had, I just wish there had been a little more of it. Side dishes were so so. Service just ok. Atmosphere great. Will try to get back.

The chicken and beef kabobs with rice are very good. So are the salads. The portions are also very good for the money. I definitely recommend this restaurant. All of my friends love the food also.

Excellent food!

The staff and owner here are very friendly and service-oriented, and the food is always excellent. The spices nicely compliment every dish I've ever eaten. We are fortunate to have an ethnic establishment of this quality in our area.

Love, Love, Love This Place!!!!

Love the atmosphere along with the staff and very affordable. If you're interested in seeing bellydancing, this is the place to go. On certain days of the month they have bellydancing. I recommend that you call to see what days though.

Great Food Great Service

I had Chicken Kabobs and My Husband had Tikka Beef Kabobs and they were amazing. The Sabzi was great too as well as the rice.. This is definitely a place that we will become regulars at. If you like Baklava you have got to save room for desert!! Great Food Great Service!!
