The food was excellent but the service was not. I ordered off of the small plate menu because I can't eat a full meal plus salad and soup. I had the chicken teriyaki and the tempura veggies. My son had the chicken and shrimp hibachi grill meal. I would go back but not on a weekend.

2/11/11 Went to Koto's with my wife for lunch today. Compared to other establishments in the area for lunch and dinner I would rate Koto's as average with plenty of other better choices available. If you plan to use a gift certificate better use the entire amount or go over as do not expect to receive a credit toward your next meal or cash back. You might even have to take home an item to use up your balance or plan to forfeit any credit balance you have over your total bill. Service was also slow but the waitperson did say they were backed up in the kitchen. I would not feel comfortable suggesting to others. Also the traffic light onto Long Hill Road from the Koto parking lot was only working when the light was green thus causing a possible unsafe condition for those pulling out and going left. I made a call to the restaurant to tell them the light was not working properly hoping to get the light fixed and preventing an accident.

We had been to the restaurant a few times before and had good overall experiences. Unfortunately our most recent vist was one of the WORST restaurant experiences. We waited 15-20 minutes for drinks each time we ordered and over an hour for our hibachi chef to arrive at the table (just before we were going to walk out) . After he prepared the food, he realized he had not accounted for orders for 3 of the 8 people at our table and had to ask for more from the kitchen. Over 2.5 hours we spent before our meal was done. We spoke to the "manager" who we learned was also the owner and could have cared less about or experience and was rude. $85 per couple for an unforgettable experience for all the wrong reasons

Fantastic resturant I went here for my birthday and it was very amusing and not just the song. The waitress said that they wouldnt be able to sing me a birthday song and i got so upset. Five minutes later they came out singing their "Shake Your Booty" song. While i became embaressed. But it was so lovely I wanted to go back and i went 8 times that summer. So if you like Seeing people cook your food this is the place to go. Oh and you can get a show!

great food

The food here is great. I'd have to agree with Marcia M on this one, i have not received the best service there but the greatness of the food surpasses it. I would in fact go there again.

When I first moved up here to be with my partner, this was the first place we went to. As avid sushi lovers we figured this would be a good spot. Well...we were wrong, but wrong in a good way! It wasn't just good, it was phenomenal! The sushi was absolutely delicious and there was so much of it that it literally fed us for the rest of the night. Our waiter was very kind. I have not yet tried the Hibachi grill, but when my parents come to visit us that will definitely be what I treat them to!

Food here is great! The service and staff are great! The only thing I didnt like and the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the Sushi bar needs to be seperated from the Hibachi area. When your going out to have sushi you normally want a nice quiet atmosphere, but here you have to put up with the Hibachi sounds which can get loud. When your eating the Hibachi it doesnt really matter about the SUshi side, but the vice-versa is not true.
