Rude! Overpriced! You have to pay for everything seperate! Bounce house room=extra Kiddie rides=extra Food=extremely overpriced! French fries $4.00 everything taste like fish or tacos! And did I say rude! The women behind the counter was so rude and her co-worker sweet but only about 12 years old! And nooo supervision in the place at all! Big kids kept tearing thru the toddler area knocking my baby down even though the sign says age 3 and under. Don't waste your time or money!

Very disappointed visiting for the first time today. I wouldn't even let my toddler play there after seeing how dirty, grimy, and old it was. The bathrooms were also very unkept. We left as soon as we entered.

The new owners are working really hard and have made huge improvements to the cleanliness, the menu, the appearance, and the experience of Castaway Play Cafe. They have great food, gourmet coffee, comfy chairs, and free Wi-Fi Internet. MY FAMILY LOVES BEING THERE!

Disgusting! I have never felt so compelled to write a review about an establishment but our visit today (2/28/10) was not a good one. I will say that the kids enjoyed themselves running around but from a parents perspective the facility was AWFUL. Dirty doesn't begin to describe it... the Toddler area was horrible- huge holes in the soft playforms (my daughter actually has a big scratch on her face from it), foam completely exposed with small particles on the ground young ones could easily put in their mouths, filthy floor that younger kids were crawling on. I didn't venture up onto the higher levels of the larger playscape but from what I observed just on the ground level- dust, dirt and absolutely gross. I don't even want to know what lurked within on the higher levels. A boy was hurt and bleeding pretty good and all the employee offered were a few paper towels and no one even bothered to immediately clean up the blood from the floor. The food... bless the poor girl who was working alone back in the kitchen. One couldn't possible expect her to keep up with the mass of food orders that were being placed. Our order for a group of 6 took ONE HOUR and to boot they failed to make a kids meal so one of the kiddos didn't get any food after all that wait (sure we all pitched in off our plates so she could eat, but seriously?) I won't even get into the nonchalant attitude of the worker when told our order was wrong- she sure didn't care my kid was starving. As much as I wanted to give the teenage girl working behind the counter an earful I walked away in frustration and I will give her credit that she did eventually have them make my daughters order and delivered it to the table 20 MINUTES later as we were all finished eating. Tables were lopsided and the highchairs were so nasty. Food was average at best but I can say that at least it was hot. People have commented on the bathrooms... they were right. Downright gross. Scary that some of these reviews say the bathrooms and facility were deplorable over a year ago- can you imagine how much worse they are now? Parental supervision- that's a persons choice as to how closely they monitor their kids but very true that a large majority did not seem to be paying any attention to the kids which made it for a very crazy bunch of kids. I would feel bad for anyone who had younger children in the big area that I'm sure were getting bashed around by out of control older kids. Only thing that somewhat saved the day a bit was that we got a gift certificate for the CC on restaurant.com and were able to save half of what we would have spent without the certificate. As we were trying to get out there they check your hands to match the numbers with your child hands (very much like a Chuck E Cheese- hand under the blacklight). I spotted a bottle on the counter of hand sanitizer and used it immediately- if I could have taken a shower in it I would have. I preceeded to get yelled at by the employee saying I was washing off the number they stamped. She was absolutely right but I didn't even think of that in my moment of attempting to get my hands clean. I'm sure I was not the first person to do that so note to management, move the stupid sanitizer to a different location and you might want to send your rude staff to some customer service training. Anyone should expect playplaces like this would be filled with germs but there truly appears to be no effort to be maintaining a decent sense of cleanliness of the structure. There are other places out there with a much higher standard of cleanliness (Safari playground in Holly for one)) while although they might not be as big just feel like a better, cleaner and safer environment for kids to have fun. Bottom line... save your money and find somewhere else. I will NEVER return to this establishment.

My two and four year old really enjoy Castaway Cafe. However, I won't go during busy times because it can get pretty crazy in there. Most parents just park their tush on the couches and socialize instead of supervise. But all in all it's a good time.

This is, by far, one of the worst places that I've ever visited with my family. 90% of the parents don't supervise their kids, and the place was filthy, especially the bathrooms. My wife, and I, took our three boys there, and the only one that you felt safe sending into the structures alone was my six year old. My 3 and 22 month old needed to be watched, because of all the unsupervised kids that were running around out of control. My 22 month old even ended up with a bloody lip, due to an older kid running him over as we started over to our seat to take a drink. Of course, the manager, who was all of 18 years old, tried to attribute the accident to the fact that we were playing in the area for the older kids, which we weren't. It was also nice that the parents of the kid that plowed over my toddler didn't step up to see if my son was okay. (This was expected, I guess, as my wife and I heard several parents tell their children that they couldn't play with them, because they couldn't fit in the main structure. I'm six foot four inches tall, and I made it just fine. Way to go parents!) I strongly recommend finding an alternative to this place. As I said, the place wasn't clean, the bathrooms were disgusting, and the employees were clueless. Some of the parent left little to be desired, as well. Take your money somewhere else.

My kids love the Castaway Cafe. I have three children ages 3, 5 and 9 they all find something to have fun with. It is always clean when we have been there. We have also had a birthday party there for my five year old that was a huge hit. The best part about it is that it is large enough for the older kids. We have visited a local Chelsea kids play place recently, it is no comparison. My kids were bored with the smaller size. The staff was very unfriendly and the food was awful!.... I would definately recommend the Castaway Cafe over any other local play place!
