Customer Service is horrible at this restaurant. This place needs new ownership in every way possible. Food below average and the clientle is about as snobby as you can get. Why go here when I can go to Rush street in the city and be given exceptional service and be around people who actually know how to treat a customer the right way? You would be nuts to waste your time at Wildwood in Geneva.

I went there for my sons Baptisim on Oct 10th. There were 10 of us and 2 children at the beginning. Before we got our food we were down to 9 and 2 children because my daughter couldn't wait an hour just to get our food and I don't blame her. We were there with little ones and you shouldn't have to wait an hour to eat. We rarely so our waitress because some of her other tables were a distance from ours. Slow service and just average food. I won't be going there again.

If you're into very rude service, poor management decisions, spiders on your table, and mediocre food...this is the spot for you! My family and I were VERY disappointed with taking a chance at Wildwood this weekend. We went there on Sunday and were greeted with a rude hotess, a waiter that had attitude (more about him in a minute)and a manager that was literally an empty suit making poor decisions on behalf of his employer. The waiter was simply...terrible. He greeted our table about 10 minutes after we sat down. That was not as big a deal as his attitude and unwillingness to simply make a bread substitution. My wife wanted to substitute her croissant for another bread selection. The waiter almost had a heart attack when asked if we could substitute for another bread selection. You would think a restaurant would have a selection (any selection) of bread. Not Wildwood! Of course they had other bread in the restaurant, but if it wasn't the pre-selected choice in the entree selection, it wasn't available. Get this...the waiter made another stellar decision to clean a table next to us with the bus staff, AFTER we requested he go get a manager. Only after I got up from my table to tell him to get a management immediately, did he go get one. The manager simply backed up their decision not to offer another type of bread in replace of the croissant. As I mentioned, they had other bread, but it was on a menu that wasn't avaiable for another 2 hours and they were unwilling to open a bag of bread that was already in the kitchen to make a family of four happy. Boy...what an unreasonable request! After discovering a spider on our silverware, we decided this wasn't the experience we wanted and decided to take our BREAD and spend it with another one of the many restaurants in Geneva. Wildwood has lost a customer for life and all the negative word-of-mouth that goes along with it. I hope in the future, they will better understand which side of the bread they should spend more time buttering.

Once again, an average-at-best steakhouse. Are there any good ones in the Geneva/St. Charles area? Firefox, Hunters, all average at best and way overpriced. The interior of the restaurant is nice. But $28 for a 6 oz. Filet, plus $4 for a peppercorn topping? I think not. We're in the suburbs folks, not downtown Chicago. Plus it tasted just average, absolutely nothing special about it. Save $10-$20 and go to Wildfire for better steak, or spend an extra $10-$20 and get the best steak at Morton's. I would pass on this one.

I was really excited to try this restaurant. First off, we had an 8pm reservation. We ended up not being seated until 8:20. Then, the way they have the tables for two set up is horrible. There was so much noise that you couldn't even have a conversation in there unless you hollered across the table. Also, the tables were on top of one another to the point where you only have about a foot inbetween tables. Our waiter seemed to be crabby. He never came over to ask us how our meal was or if he could get us anything else. This is almost unheard for a top scale restaurant. Our meal was pretty good but just the noise level was enough to not want to go back. There's plenty of other of good places to eat without all the noise.

pleasant first experience
By Janet, 7/21/07
My first visit to Wildwood was very pleasant. Two weeks ago I was diagnosed with food sensitivities...this was my first experience dining out with special needs. I was with a bus group of seniors who had all pre-ordered our entrees. I neglected to notify the group director about my issue, but when she spoke to the chef about it, he could not have been more accommodating, even in the midst of busy lunch hour. He prepared a dish for me that was perfect for my needs and the waitress was extremely understanding of them...when I told her I would skip the ice cream dessert, she offered to bring sorbet. The ambience is lovely, the food very tasty, pleasant servers. Thank you, Wildwood for making my experience less stressful and I will be back with my husband, if not our whole group!

1st Time will be our Last!
By Marilee, 7/9/07
What a shame this restaurant was such a disappointment! We arrived a little early (8pm) for our 8:15 reservations so accepted the offer for a drink at the bar until a table was ready. Over half an our later, we were finally seated by an unapologetic hostess. Noting that there were several (7-10) empty tables, we asked why the long wait to be seated. The hostess replied that those were saved for people with reservations. We had reservations. The sweet waitress was the only saving grace for this restaurant, but we still waited hungrily for every step of the meal. The food sounded fancy but tasted mediocre and definitely not worth the expense. I think my chicken breast injected with bland veggies was $17. Worst was the super stuffy climate of the dining room. I sweated through the whole meal - not very elegant. Until they improve service and maybe add a little salt to their recipes, take a pass on this place!
