I have eaten several times here in the last year and have never been disappointed. I love the food and the atmosphere.. I recommend it to all my friends and relatives..the drive of 30 minutes is well worth the trip..
The food is fabulous and if something isn't just the way you like it - they will make it right. The owner and the staff are GREAT. This is the best restaurant in Afton and worth a trip from neighboring towns. One of the waitresses can be a little slow when there is a full house so you just need to be patient and enjoy the food. Save room for dessert - you won't be disappointed.
Food is wonderful, but.... We checked website, Monday hours 11-4, so my husband and I drove up, only to find a sign on the door, closed Mondays. We saw two other sets of people (one very angry) checking the sign as well. The food is great, but I had checked the website that morning, and they had inaccurate hours. Also, we went up in early September, closed for vacation. It is extremely disappointing to drive 30 minutes to find a sign on the door. While she is an excellent cook, the communication skills for running a business (updateing your website) are sorely lacking. Will go again, but not right away, disappointed.
Liz at Main Street grill designed and baked the most beautiful, delicious wedding cake for our daughter's wedding. One layer was white cake with raspberry and white chocolate mousse, another layer had key lime filling. Absolutely delicious!
We where given a gift certificate to this establishment,,placed a takeout order around 2PM ..looked forward to our meal....BLAHHHHHHH
everything we ordered was so dried out we threw 7/8ths of it right in the garbage can! WHAT A DISSAPOINTMENT...even the Carrot cake desert was so so..Do better a at a little Place called Henrys,,and a heck of lot cheaper !!!
Outstanding food and service! We try to make the drive at least once a month. Don't forget to take a dessert home with you...you will be too full to eat it there!!! I used to own a restaurant and appreciate the quality of the food and the quality of the staff! Imagine finding a gem like this in a small toen like Afton!
We are 15 minutes from Oneonta and just a short scenic drive from Oneonta to Cooperstown. The cottage sits in
a clearing on 11 acres of woods, perfect for bird watching with hiking and walking trails. The only sound ...
