Wazzabi Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi, Winter Park

Great atmosphere, great food, service needs some major help! Without going into my web of woes I expect to have my needs at a resturant flawless and cheerful. I expected way too much when we walked into Wazzabi, The ambiance was up to par and food was impecable, but a resturant needs attention to the steps of service. and maybe hire some enthusiastic chefs who love their job,and a server who remembers to bring cocktails before soup and salads are served.

Creative and fresh, the selection and taste of Wazzabi is not to be missed when you and your family come to the greater Orlando area. They even have a hibachi area for the land lubbers.

We arrived about an hour before closing when were seated. We were seated without being pressured to rush do to them closing. The waitress had a full grasp of the menu and was able to help us navigate some of the things we had yet try in the sushi realm. Also we were in an area of the restaurant where my date and I could talk freely. So not only was the food great but the atmosphere was not only good but it was created.

Being an avid sushi fan, I've been to almost every sushi place (big and small) in the orlando area. Without question, Wazzabi is the best sushi in the greater orlando area. The combination of the service, atmosphere, and food (of course) make it a great place to eat.

This place is like no other sushi place in central Florida. It by far has the freshest and most delicious sushi I have ever tasted. If you are looking for amazing sushi this is the place to go.

I love this place. The food is amazing. The sushi is wonderful and attractively displayed. The decor is amazing. Definitely a bit upscale. On our first visit, we were a bit underdressed but were made to feel welcome nonetheless. There is a glassed-in area where they do the Japanese Steak House type of cooking. We ate in the main dining room which is a work of art in itself. As this place gets more popular, reservations are definitely recommended. It's not really a place for kids although we had ours in tow as did several other patrons. This is a great romantic restaurant as well as a good spot for sushi afficionados. The sushi is fresh and extremely tasty prepared both traditionally and by batter dipping and flash-frying some rolls. Happily for me, they also provide some take out which I had made good use of this week. The wait staff is efficient and non-obtrusive although we did have to remind our waiter about bringing water a few times. I'm sure in time, these kinks will be worked out. We did not have any wine with the meal but the list appears to be quite extensive and a cursory glance seems to indicate that the wine selection was well planned. The green tea ice cream is a nice finishing treat as well. If I could convince my husband, we'd be eating there 4 or 5 times a week.

We were nicely greeted and seated right away without a reservation. All the staff members were friendly and efficient. We chose to sit outside and although the place was packed, they quickly found an indoor table for us when it began to rain. The sushi rolls were very tasty. The duck was cooked to a perfect medium rare served in a nice sauce and beautifully presented. The Buddha Delight was tasty although the tofu pieces were slightly greasy. Making one change in the recipe for an allergy was not a problem. We had a very nice time and will return often.
