My friend and I had lunch, which was probably one of the worst I have ever encountered. My friend had a salad that included diced chicken which tasted spoiled. The spring rolls were supposed to include shrimp. Each roll containted one tiny piece of shrimp. Finally the presentation was horrible. We will never dine at this restaurant again.
The pineapple fried rice was nothing to write home about. The sushi, on the other hand, was definitely out of this world. At 12.95/each special, it was well worth it. The best that we've had in a long time.
Update April 2010.
Had lunch over there the other day. Both the soup and the main dish had too much MSG in it. I don't mind MSG if it's used to enhance the natural flavor, not replacing it.
The dish (clear noodle stir-fry) could had been really good if it didn't have so much MSG in it; it had equal parts of veggie, starch, and meat.
The best Sushi in St. Petersburg and beyond! Ingredients are always fresh and the rolls are twice the size of any other restaurant around. The wait staff is always very friendly and the establishment is clean.
The first time I ate here we were trying to get to another Thai Restaurant but I'm am really glad we didn't make it and wound up at the Kinga and I. The Panang Curry is the best I've ever had, the spice is warm but not overwhelming. The sushi is great as well. We have tried many entrees and never been dissapointed. The staff is very friendly and attentive and the decor is enjoyable as well. The best place to eat Thai in the Tampa Bay area!
Not only is the staff and the owner dedicated and attentive to every little detail of the service they render their customers, the food is sensational - both the Thai and the Sushi. The Restaurant's decor is authentic Thai and the owner has painstakingly recreated the atmosphere of a small, friendly Asian restaurant. The King and I is worth the drive wherever you may be in Tampa Bay. The prices are also great for the big portions one gets. We love this place ! J in St Pete
I stopped here one day to have sushi and have been there every week since! This place is excellent. Very fresh food and the Sushi is the best I have had. I drive there from 1/2 way across the county to get there. My kids even like it!
