I will never eat at this DAN’s location ever again, which is unfortunate for them because I usually come here once every week to two weeks. I ordered a burger dry with only pickles and meat, you would think that it wouldn’t be that difficult to screw up my order but apparently it’s easy for the staff at Dans. The lady taking the other repeats my order as ‘cheese burger with mustard’ I tell her no. ONLY PICKLES AND MEAT DRY. I get to the window and when she gives me my receipt I inform her that my order on my receipt is incorrect that it should only be pickles, dry, extra pickles. She says ok and that she will run to tell the cook. I get my order out before my small shake, I check my burger – it has everything on it. I inform her of this when she give me my shake and asks me to pull forward and they will bring it out corrected. I then again reminder her that it should only have pickles and meat dry nothing else. I sit for about 15 minutes; cars are pulling up behind me getting their food walked out to them while I have to wait for them to throw some pickles and meat on a burger. Finally a blonde kid brings the order out and says “I’m sorry I know you have been waiting here way too long” I look at the burger and it has the same stuff it did on the first time! I let him know that it should only have pickles and meat he says sorry she took the order wrong, I tell him yes I know this I told her when I first saw the receipt. They finally bring out a burger with only pickles and meat that looks as though they used one of the ones I sent back because there is mustard still on the bun, and the meat is cold. By this time my shake has melted and my fries are cold. I am so livid when I get home I threw my meal away and ate something else for dinner. They are lucky I did not drive back and throw it in their faces. If I were the manager of this place I would make sure the girl working the window tonight (9.29.10 around 6:20 pm) gets retrained or doesn’t take drive thru orders since she apparently doesn’t know how to listen!
On saturday nights we always go to the drive thru window, order to take home hamburgers and fries. In order to keep them warm we asked to put them in a plastic bag to go. Last saturday we ask the young lady to put them in a plastic bag to keep the food warm, she rolled her eyes and drop our bags of food on the counter put them in a plastic bag and give us our bag and she didn't offer condominiums, not even a thanks, she close the window and give us her back. She was real rude. We will never give Dan's our business again.
Through the grapevine, I had heard of Dan's Hamburgers before, but had never been there. That is until December of 2009! My wife and I were returning from a trip into San Antonio and had stopped at an A&W's. I'm a diabetic and my sugar was dropping significantly so we had to grab something quick before it got into the low 40's! Because of my blurry vision, I couldn't read the menu at the A&W, so my wife ordered for me. What I got resembled a burger in miniturization, but ultimately a complete let-down. So, we walk out to the car and low and behold, we spot the Dan's sign right across the street! We high-tail it across the street and I am rewarded with the best hamburger that I had ever had the pleasure of consuming! Incidently, the burger was so huge, it made a second meal. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!
We went into Dan's on 10/26/09 about 30 minutes before closing. They were already cleaning up but they told us that we could still order and besides that, there were still people in the restaurant and at the drive-thru. So we ordered and then noticed that the people who had previously been cleaning the kitchen with their blue cleaning gloves on, handling the mops and other cleaning items, then started working on our meal, with the same gloves on, handling the hamburger buns and everything with those same blue cleaning gloves. We asked to speak to the manager who informed us that they had just talked about not doing that that day. But if that was the case, why would they do it that same evening, especially knowing that the manager was there and would possibly be able to catch them doing it again? We did at least get our money back. So besides being a serious health violation, it is truly disgusting and we will never eat there again, which is sad because we really used to enjoy it.
