Bright tomato flavors, tooth of the ground lamb against the unctuous buttery-smooth baby Italian eggplant, tiny green peppers with all the flavor but none of the bitter bite, the Sultan's salad of chunks of cucumber, tomato, red onion and parsley in a light citrus, oil-less dress was the cool, impromptu palate cleanser. The finest eggplant dish I've ever had, Turkish or otherwise, here or there.
