A terrible experience. We had been to this restaurant about a year ago and had a wonderful meal, etc. The last of May we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary and dined at the TOP of the Rock. The menu was more like breakfast, lunch or dinner. The choices of entrees was lacking. They had music, but it was not to our taste and extremely loud. So, this was a waste of money and time.
My company had an annual dinner there tonight and I only ate 10% of my cheesecake. I asked the waiter for a box so I can take the cheesecake home. He said I can't take it home because it's against their policy. I'd have to sign a waiver if I wanted to take it home. Huh? The food is paid for by the company, and I'm NOT asking for another piece, I just wanted to take whatever I couldn't finish home. I've never ever heard of this policy from any place before.
The settting was perfectly romantic and the scenic view was breath-taking. The attentive service was refreshing. The food was delectible from the artistic appetizers all the way down to the berry sorbet dessert!!! Definitely looking forward to celebrating again, on top of the rock!!!

The only redeemable feature of this restaurant is the view. Service was so-so, appetizers and meal were truly awful. The pork medallions were undercooked, the lobster bisque barely edible, portebello mushroom bland. Time between appetizers and meal exceeded 25 minutes. The main course arrived cold. The lobster was old, tough, no flavor. The meat portion was scrawny, althoughy tasty. Prices are way way out of skew with food quality & service. I've had far superior meals at Sizzler -at a fraction of the cost.
This place is highly un-recommended. Horrible.
The service was great, the ambiance was great but the food was lacking and I would go as far as to say it made my husband and I nauseous. We have never paid so much for such horrible food. Maybe it is just us and our tastes are not as fine as is needed to enjoy this food but generally we are not picky.
