We went to The View lounge on thrsday night, wait for the table was 25 min, waitres came over to bring the menus, then after 20 minuts to take the order, she served those drinks after another 20 min...the place was PACKED and there were ONLY TWO SLOW WAITRESES, for huge and busy place like that they should have at least 10 people working. For four drinks and cover charge we paid $115!!!! They even include the tip on cover charge!!! Not worthed!

We went to the view lounge/restaurant for their dinner buffet and drinks. The food was very good but most of them are cold salads and appetizers. There are two hot entrees (1 beef and 1 chicken). The restaurant has been around for a while and the tables, chairs, etc. are showing their age. Probably time for a renovation. The tables are very small and very close together. Do not go here if you do not like sitting close to other diners because you will be packed in rather tightly. In the future, I would probably consider going here just for cocktails and then go somewhere else for a nice dinner.

I was very happy with this resaurant. After the reviews, I was a little skeptical on this place, but after being there, it was worth the money. My wife and I went to NY for our honeymoon (from Louisiana) and this was one of the places I decided to go for one of our dinners. Money: This was the most expensive place we ate in NY (and we went to a few very nice restaurants). With both of us, appetizer, main course, desert, sparkling water, we left there spending right at about $200.00. Not only do you pay for the view, but the food as well. Food: WOW! Well first we had appetizers. I had the crab cake and it was delicious! It didn't knock my socks off, but it was very good. Next, was the STEAK! OMG... my wife and I both had the steak and it was literally the most delicious, tender, juicy, tasty steak I have EVER had... It literally melted in your mouth. You could pull pieces off of it like a beautiful roast. That right there was worth the $200.00 we paid for dinner. After that, the waiter brought us a free chocolate cake with icecream because he heard it was our honeymoon (wasn't very good, but it was the thought that counted). By the time we got done, we had NO room for our cheesecake that we ordered. The only thinh I did not like about this, was that we spent so much money on the food, and they gave us 2 small round pieces of cheesecake insteak of the whopping big NY style cheesecake you think of. I got it to go, but I never got around the eating it, and when my wife did, she said it was nothing special. View: We went at night, but the view was still good. It wasn't the best view in the city, or the clearest, but it was very nice. Only 48 stories (I believe) up, so you are not looking over any buildings, but more so looking at other buildings. In all, I would go again just because of the steak! It was life changing! For visitors of NY and residents, I would def. recommend this place for special occasions.

Well worth $5 for a cup of hot tea! We stopped in to The View lounge after seeing a Broadway show at 2:00 PM. We checked our coats in the lobby (required ... but free!), went straight up to the lounge (even if you don't stay for dinner or the 1 drink minimum, the view from the elevator is worth the ride!), was seated right away (by the time we left, the line to wait for a table was a mile long!), and enjoyed a drink while looking down on the city (it takes about 1 hour for the lounge to make one full revolution).

Went for a drink while staying in hotel. Expensive, about $20 per alcoholic drink. Very good service and view. Make your reervations ahead of time if you want to eat there.

Food was Delicious, THE VIEW of course was Excellent, but I must say a bit expensive - but it was worth it!!! A priceless experience! I would definetely recommended. For those that dont know theres also a lounge/bar on the top floor which has much CHEAPER prices.

awesome view for a tourist but so so food for a foodie... the menu is prixe-fix with very little on the menu, the service was decent but the prices are steep, you are definately paying for the VIEW of manhattan... the appetizer buffett is $27 the prixe fix is $70 a drink will run you $15 luckily our local East Coast friend treated us to this place so don't feel too bad but would not really return except for a drink and to see the view in daylight...
