Description

Colors, a restaurant opened by ex-employees of Windows of the World (a restaurant that existed atop the World Trade Center), is a truly global experience. This restaurant is a cooperative and pays homage to the unfortunate victims of the World Trade Center tragedy. This elegant and subdued restaurant proudly displays a shimmering world map entirely made up of mirrors, glass and paint! The American menu with that international flavor has set the New Yorkers' taste buds alight. Each employee, many of them who are immigrants has supplied one favorite recipe! Colors is a symbol of hope and unity, and what they represent in their diversity translates into the cuisine too. Try the exotic Asian influenced Salad with Chicken and Green Papaya or the Peruvian Lentil and Rice Cake . If you want to stick to something more conventional, go in for a Rib-eye Steak or the Slow-roasted Pork .

I'll definitely be back soon
By XO, 5/3/07
Warm, happy, friendly, attractive and generous staff. Sampled everything from appetizers to desserts and drinks. Highly recommend the lychee martini--nice, refreshing warm weather drink. Also try the gorgonzola polenta with balsamic vinegar. Loved the crabcake and ceviche appetizers. Nice, trendy, softly lit atmosphere and soothing energy. International menu represents international staff and innovative.

Almost Excellent
By Tobias, 9/1/06
I'll have to eat here again to bump it up to 5 stars, but having tried half the tapas on the menu the other night, our verdict is all good. In particular, the bison ribs are outstanding and the Pam Thai is very tasty/spicy the way it should be. The one dessert we shared (warm spiced donut) was crazy-good. Disappointed that no one else was in the place at 8pm on a Thursday... so don't worry about reservations, just get here and try it out. Nice story too on the ownership, makes you want to tip well, which the great service makes easy to do.
